DigiHelic Solutions - Oracle DB Developer - Performance Tuning (5-10 yrs)

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Oracle Database Developer with extensive experience in database design, development, and optimization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Oracle databases (OLTP) and hands-on experience with cloud services, specifically AWS.

You will play a pivotal role in building, optimizing, and migrating databases for high-performance applications while adhering to best practices in data management, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities :

Database Design & Architecture :

- Design and model complex databases on OLTP systems to meet business requirements.

- Work on distributed cloud systems, particularly AWS, for building scalable database architectures.

- Develop and implement database migration strategies and solutions, especially from on-premise to AWS cloud platforms.

Performance Tuning & Optimization :

- Write complex SQL queries with a focus on performance, optimizing them for high-volume data systems.

- Implement and perform database performance tuning, using profiling and monitoring tools to detect and fix bottlenecks.

- Continuously monitor database performance and suggest improvements for efficiency and scalability.

Implementation of Database Objects :

- Design and develop stored procedures, views, functions, triggers, and other database objects for high-performance systems.

- Ensure that database objects are robust, reusable, and optimized for speed and accuracy.

Cloud Database Expertise (AWS) :

- Utilize AWS services such as EC2, RDS, RDS Snapshots, S3, DocumentDB, DynamoDB, Lambda, Redshift, etc., to build, manage, and optimize cloud-based database solutions.

- Implement and maintain data pipelines, utilizing services like AWS Lambda and DocumentDB to facilitate data processing and storage.

Data Automation & Testing :

- Lead efforts in automating database-related tasks, including backup, restore, and database object migrations.

- Participate in database testing and automation frameworks to ensure database integrity and - performance.

- Automate data migration and validation processes, ensuring accurate and efficient data transfers.

Best Practices & Governance :

- Establish and maintain best practices related to database changes, ensuring all database modifications are efficient, scalable, and meet security standards.

- Implement and enforce database security measures, including encryption, access controls, and data privacy compliance.

- Work with cross-functional teams to streamline database deployment, monitoring, and version control.

Required Skills and Experience :

Core Experience :

- 8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with a focus on Oracle database development.

- Expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining OLTP databases for complex and high-volume systems.

- Extensive experience in database modeling, schema design, and optimization.

Database Development & SQL :

- Advanced skills in writing complex SQL queries with a focus on performance and scalability.

- Proficiency in working with database objects like stored procedures, views, functions, and triggers.

Cloud Experience (AWS) :

- Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, RDS, RDS Snapshots, S3, DocumentDB, DynamoDB, Lambda, and Redshift.

- Experience in designing and managing cloud databases and cloud-native applications.

Database Performance Tuning :

- Strong ability to tune database queries and performance using industry-standard tools and techniques.

- Experience with database profiling and optimization for both large and small-scale systems.

Automation & CI/CD :

- Experience with database testing automation and performance monitoring.

- Familiarity with DevOps practices and experience using CI/CD tools to deploy and manage database changes.

Nice to Have :

Certifications :

- AWS Developer Certification (or equivalent AWS certifications).

Advanced Database Platforms :

- Experience working with Exadata platform.

- Familiarity with NoSQL databases like AWS DocumentDB and DynamoDB.

ETL & Data Warehousing :

- Experience with ETL processes and data warehousing solutions.

- Understanding of data analytics delivery on both internal and external cloud platforms.
