Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer (5-6 yrs)

About the Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quality Assurance Automation Engineer to join our growing QA team.

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products by designing, developing, and implementing robust automated testing solutions.

You will be a key contributor in building our API testing strategy and mentoring other team members.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain automated API tests using Postman, Newman, and the Karate framework.

- Implement Chai.js assertions within Postman for comprehensive API validation.

- Develop and maintain API test automation frameworks.

- Create and execute API test scripts to validate functionality, performance, and security.

- Develop and implement a comprehensive API testing strategy.

- Define API test coverage and ensure adequate test coverage for all APIs.

- Integrate API testing into the CI/CD pipeline.

- Train and mentor other QA team members on API testing best practices and tools.

- Share knowledge and expertise on API automation frameworks and techniques.

- Develop and maintain UI automation tests (if required for the role).

- Integrate UI automation with API testing for end-to-end testing.

- Participate in test planning sessions and contribute to test strategy development.

- Execute automated tests and analyze test results.

- Identify and report defects, and track defects to resolution.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest testing tools, technologies, and best practices.

- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.

Qualifications :

Essential :

- 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance with a strong focus on API testing and automation.

- Deep understanding of UI and API automation principles and best practices.

- Hands-on experience with Postman, Newman, and Chai.js.

- Expert-level understanding of the Karate framework.

- Experience in creating and implementing API testing strategies.

- Strong programming skills (e., JavaScript, Java).

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
