Job Description: Category Head

Location: Chhatarpur, New Delhi

Position Summary: The Category Head is responsible for driving the overall strategy, growth, and profitability of a specific product category in the ECommerce business. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, analytical expertise, and operational excellence to deliver a superior customer experience, increase market share, and achieve revenue goals. The Category Head will work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, supply chain, product management, and finance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Category Strategy and Planning:

• Develop and execute the category strategy in alignment with business objectives.
• Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
• Define the category roadmap, including product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies.

2. P&L Management:

• Own the categorys Profit & Loss (P&L) performance.
• Monitor revenue, profitability, and other key financial metrics.
• Identify opportunities to improve margins and reduce costs.

3. Product and Assortment Management:

• Build a compelling and competitive product assortment tailored to customer needs.
• Collaborate with product teams to improve product offerings and enhance user experience.
• Ensure the timely launch of new products and updates.

4. Marketing and Promotions:

• Work closely with marketing teams to develop and execute category-specific campaigns.
• Analyze campaign performance and optimize promotional strategies.
• Drive customer acquisition, retention, and engagement through targeted initiatives.

5. Data Analysis and Insights:

• Leverage data to track category performance and customer behavior.
• Use analytics to identify growth opportunities and address challenges.
• Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

6. Team Leadership and Collaboration:

• Collaborate with Purchase & Import Team/Creative & Graphics team and Digital Marketing team
• Lead and mentor a team of category managers or specialists.
• Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on goals. o Drive a culture of innovation and excellence within the team

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
• 8+ years of experience in category management, merchandising, or related roles in an eCommerce or retail environment.
• Proven track record of managing a P&L and delivering business growth.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make data driven decisions.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in using analytics tools and eCommerce platforms.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a results-driven mindset.
