Sr. Manager/AGM/GM International Sales (Africa / ASEAN / SCC)
Ayurvedic Pharma.
The General Manager International Sales will be responsible for overseeing the growth and
performance of the Ayurvedic Pharma division in the Africa, ASEAN, and SCC regions. This
role will focus on formulating and executing the sales strategy, expanding market share,
managing distributor relationships, and ensuring consistent revenue growth. The GM will
lead cross-functional teams to build and enhance the brands presence in these diverse and
emerging markets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Sales Leadership:
o Develop and implement a comprehensive international sales strategy for
Africa, ASEAN, and SCC regions, ensuring alignment with the companys
global objectives and market dynamics.
o Identify and target key growth markets and segments in each region, adjusting
strategies to meet specific regional demands and regulatory requirements.
o Set clear, measurable sales goals for regional teams and monitor performance
against targets.
o Lead and drive expansion in both existing and new markets, focusing on
increasing market share and revenue growth.
2. Market Penetration & Expansion:
o Research and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer
insights to identify high-potential opportunities for Ayurvedic pharma
products in the target regions.
o Lead market entry strategies, including selecting and onboarding key
distributors, partners, and local sales teams.
o Build a strong brand presence through targeted marketing and sales campaigns
in both B2B (distributors, healthcare professionals) and B2C (end customers)
segments.
o Establish pricing strategies and product positioning based on competitive
analysis and regional consumer behavior.
3. Distributor & Partner Management:
o Build and maintain strong relationships with key distributors, channel
partners, and wholesalers across the regions.
o Negotiate contracts, set performance expectations, and ensure the timely and
efficient supply of products.
o Conduct regular meetings with distributors to ensure effective sales execution,
resolve operational issues, and provide support in market development.
o Monitor and ensure compliance with local regulations, business practices, and
the ethical standards of Ayurvedic pharma promotion.
4. Cross-functional Collaboration:
o Work closely with the marketing, regulatory, supply chain, and R&D teams to
ensure that regional market needs are addressed effectively, and products are
marketed and distributed in compliance with local regulations.
o Collaborate with the product development team to adapt or modify products as
needed for specific regional markets.
o Lead regional trade shows, conferences, and healthcare professional events to
build brand awareness and educate stakeholders on the benefits of Ayurvedic
pharmaceutical products.
5. Financial Performance & Budget Management:
o Develop and manage regional sales budgets, ensuring efficient use of
resources and alignment with company financial targets.
o Regularly track and report on sales performance, key metrics, and market
development activities to senior leadership.
o Forecast sales and revenue projections for each market and adjust strategies to
meet or exceed financial goals.
6. Team Leadership & Development:
o Lead, mentor, and inspire regional sales teams, fostering a culture of
collaboration, high performance, and accountability.
o Hire and train local sales managers and representatives to ensure effective
market penetration and sales performance.
o Provide coaching and support to ensure teams have the tools and knowledge to
succeed in dynamic, competitive markets.
o Conduct regular performance evaluations and ensure continuous skill
development for regional team members.
7. Compliance & Ethical Standards:
o Ensure all sales and marketing activities comply with both local regulations
and the companys ethical standards.
o Promote and uphold the brands reputation in the region by adhering to all
legal, regulatory, and ethical guidelines governing Ayurvedic pharmaceuticals.
o Ensure transparent and ethical marketing practices for Ayurvedic products, in
line with both regional and international standards.
Key Qualifications:
Education:
o Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Administration, International
Business, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field. An MBA is a plus.
Experience:
o Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in international sales, with at least 5-8
years in a senior leadership role (GM, Country Head, or Regional Sales Head).
o Proven track record of success in expanding and managing markets in Africa,
ASEAN, and SCC regions, ideally within the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or
FMCG sectors. Experience in Ayurvedic or natural products is a strong plus.
o Deep understanding of the regulatory landscape, business culture, and market
dynamics across the Africa, ASEAN, and SCC regions.
Skills:
o Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
o Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
o In-depth knowledge of international trade, market entry strategies, and
distribution models.
o Strong analytical skills to assess market opportunities and sales performance.
o Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and multicultural environment.
o Fluent in English; proficiency in additional regional languages (e.g., French,
Bahasa, etc.) is an advantage.
