Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Administrator

Job Summary:

Seeking a skilled GCP Cloud Administrator to manage and maintain our cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with GCP services, cloud-native architectures, and system administration practices. This role involves implementing, optimizing, and maintaining cloud resources while ensuring performance, security, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. GCP Infrastructure Management:

• Design, configure, and manage GCP resources, including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Functions, and more.
• Implement and manage virtual networks, firewalls, and other GCP networking components.
• Set up and manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies.

2. Cloud Operations and Maintenance:

• Monitor cloud infrastructure for performance, availability, and cost optimization using GCP tools.
• Troubleshoot issues across cloud-based and on-premise systems.
• Ensure regular patching, updates, and system maintenance.

3. Automation and Scripting:

• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, Deployment Manager, or similar tools.
• Automate recurring tasks using scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

4. Security and Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to security best
• Ensure adherence to security best practices, including data encryption, monitoring, and security incident response.
• Conduct regular audits of cloud resources to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory policies.

5. Collaboration and Support:

• Collaborate with development, DevOps, and operations teams to support application deployment and system integration.
• Provide technical support to resolve cloud-related issues and assist teams with cloud resource usage.

6. Cost Optimization:

• Monitor and analyze GCP billing to identify and implement cost-saving measures.
• Advise teams on the efficient use of GCP resources to minimize costs.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud administration with a focus on GCP.
• Strong understanding of GCP services like Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud SQL, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage.
• Experience with Kubernetes and containerized applications is a plus.

Skills:

• Experience in Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or GCP Deployment Manager.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.).
• Solid knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, VPN, Subnets, VPC).
• Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools.

Certifications (Preferred):

• Google Cloud Certified Associate Cloud Engineer.
• Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect.
