Job Title: Associate Director
Organization Overview: TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) is a global nonprofit organization
focused on fostering entrepreneurship. TiE Chandigarh is a prominent chapter within this
network, dedicated to supporting entrepreneurs through mentoring, networking, education, and
funding opportunities. With a strong emphasis on innovation and collaboration, TiE Chandigarh
plays a crucial role in the regional entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
Provide Strategic Leadership and Guidance:
o Develop and execute strategic initiatives in alignment with TiE Chandigarhs
mission and objectives.
o Guide and support departmental heads to ensure cohesive execution of strategies
across various functions.
Oversee Operations:
o Monitor and optimize operational processes to enhance efficiency and
effectiveness.
o Ensure that all activities and programs align with TiE Chandigarhs goals and
contribute to its overall success.
Stakeholder Engagement:
o Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including
entrepreneurs, investors, industry leaders, and government bodies.
o Collaborate with partners and sponsors to maximize support and resources for TiE
Chandigarhs initiatives.
Financial Management and Fundraising:
o Manage budgets and financial resources prudently to support sustainable growth
and organizational stability.
o Identify and pursue funding opportunities through grants, sponsorships, and
partnerships to enhance TiE Chandigarhs financial health.
o Develop and implement fundraising strategies to secure contributions from local,
national, and international sources.
o Travel within the Tricity region, across India, and internationally as needed to
meet with potential donors, sponsors, and partners, and to represent TiE
Chandigarh at conferences and events.
Team Development:
o Mentor, coach, and develop team members to foster a culture of excellence,
collaboration, and professional growth.
o Encourage innovation and creativity among staff to drive continuous
improvement and achieve organizational goals.
Event Management and Planning:
o Lead the planning and execution of events, workshops, and conferences to
promote entrepreneurship and networking opportunities.
o Ensure events are well-organized, engaging, and contribute to the visibility and
reputation of TiE Chandigarh.
Work Schedule and Availability:
o The standard workweek is five days, Monday through Friday, with office hours
from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
o Flexibility is required to work evenings and weekends as necessary, particularly
during TiE events. Events may require early morning starts (as early as 7 AM)
and can extend into late evenings (ending around 11 PM to 12 AM).
Additional Roles and Responsibilities:
The Associate Director may be required to take on additional duties and responsibilities
as necessary to support the evolving needs of TiE Chandigarh and its initiatives.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in strategic leadership and management, preferably in a nonprofit or
entrepreneurial environment.
Strong understanding of financial management and budgeting processes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships
with diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams towards achieving common goals.
Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field (Master s
degree preferred).
Ability to travel extensively within the Tricity region, across India, and internationally as
required.
