Assistant General Manager- MEP Design

Candidate will be responsible for leading the MEP design and coordination processes, overseeing the development and execution of MEP drawings, ensuring their integration with architectural plans, and working closely with both in-house teams and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will have expertise in MEP systems design and a deep understanding of architectural requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead MEP Design Development:

• Oversee the development of MEP drawings, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that MEP systems integrate seamlessly with architectural plans.
• Review and approve MEP drawings at different stages of the design process, from concept to construction.

2. Coordination and Integration:

• Coordinate MEP design work with architectural and structural teams to ensure alignment with overall project goals.
• Lead coordination meetings between architecture and MEP teams to resolve design conflicts and optimize system integration.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and sustainability requirements.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively to ensure timely delivery of MEP drawings.
• Monitor team progress and quality, conducting regular reviews and providing constructive feedback.

3. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

• Ensure that MEP designs meet all relevant industry standards, safety codes, and client specifications.
• Conduct thorough quality checks on all MEP drawings and documentation before submission.
• Stay up-to-date with new technologies, materials, and methods within the MEP field, implementing innovations where appropriate.

4. Client and Stakeholder Communication:

• Serve as the primary point of contact for MEP-related inquiries from clients, consultants, and contractors.
• Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and documentation for client meetings and project updates.
• Address and resolve client concerns regarding MEP designs or drawing details.

5. Project Management:

• Track the progress of MEP drawing development, ensuring timelines are met and deliverables are submitted on time.
• Contribute to project scheduling, resource planning, and budget management as it pertains to MEP design.
• Support project managers in managing costs and minimizing project delays.

6. Sustainability and Innovation:

• Promote the use of sustainable practices in the MEP design process.
• Evaluate energy efficiency options and innovative technologies for MEP systems that enhance project sustainability.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical

• Experience: Minimum 10+ years of experience in MEP design role overseeing MEP drawing development in architecture projects.

• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems design, building codes, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) for MEP drawings.
• Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
• Proven ability to manage teams and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
