Principal Software Developer - Core

Ericsson Enterprise Wireless Solutions is seeking an energetic engineer for its Ericsson Private 5G Solution that provides enterprise customers with Private Cellular Network for mission critical business applications and cellular connectivity needs. Senior 5G Core Network Engineer will assist in developing and implementing an all-new mobility core network (5G Core) as defined by 3GPP 5G Stand Alone architecture.

What Will You Do

Design and develop various Core features for the PCN (Private Cellular Network) product line

- Implement Subscriber Management, SMF / AMF and Application Function Integrations solutions with Voice, MCPTT VOLTE etc, ensuring performance and configuration using QCI, Bearers and APNs

- Strong UPF knowledge and data path routing

- Work with Product Owners to understand and fine-tune requirements

- Work closely with service teams, distinguished engineers, including hardware engineers, software developers, and networking and test teams to deliver robust solutions

- Investigate and resolve complex networking issues, collaborating with support and operations teams

- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies. Introduce innovative solutions to improve networking performance and efficiency

- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Bachelors/master s degree in computer science or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in Core Domain
• In-depth knowledge and/or documented work experience with core functions such as UPF, SMF,AMF, NRF, NSSF, PCF, UDM, AUSF, IMS, VOLTE, MCPTT
• Proven work experience in 5G, CUPS, and LTE technologies.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols including dynamic routing protocols
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed, data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Good written and verbal communication abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Dockers, VMs, Kubernetes, CICD
• Experience in Networking
