Senior Software Development Engineer - Test - Automation Testing (5-8 yrs)

Job Title : Automation Testing - SDET (Senior Software Development Engineer in Test)

Location : Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India

Mandatory Skills :

- 5-8 years of experience as a Senior Automation Test Engineer (SDET)

- Expertise in Test Automation using Playwright with C#

- Proficient in Specflow for Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)

- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman and SoapUI

Responsibilities :

- Implement, enhance, and adapt the selected test automation framework to meet the needs of the project.

- Automate existing manual regression test cases and maintain the automation suite.

- Ensure continuous execution of the regression pack and generate comprehensive reports.

- Log and track defects in accordance with the established defect management process.

- Collaborate with the squad to understand new features, creating automated scripts to verify them.

- Integrate test automation scripts with DevOps pipelines and test management tools in collaboration with the Hiscox test and DevOps teams.

- Contribute to the development and enhancement of the test automation framework alongside the wider SDET team.

- Define and implement continuous test automation strategies as part of the overall test strategy in collaboration with the squad.

- Occasionally assist with manual test execution when required.

- Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality, timely delivery of products.

- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates and addressing concerns both verbally and in writing.

Qualifications :

- 5-8 years of relevant experience in automation testing, specifically with Playwright, C#, Specflow, and API testing tools.

- Strong understanding of test automation principles and best practices.

- Proven experience working in an Agile environment and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
