Senior Software Development Engineer - Test - Automation Testing (6-8 yrs)

Role Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SDET to lead our automation initiatives, enhance testing frameworks, and drive technical excellence within the Quality Engineering (QE) team.

The Senior SDET will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining advanced test automation frameworks, fostering team growth, and collaborating with development teams to seamlessly integrate testing into the CI/CD pipeline.

Key Responsibilities :

- Automation Leadership : Lead the design, development, and implementation of robust and scalable test automation frameworks.

- Technical Mentorship : Guide, train, and mentor junior Quality Engineers (QEs) to elevate team capabilities.

- Tool & Tech Evaluation : Assess and recommend automation tools, technologies, and industry best practices to enhance testing efficiency.

- Best Practices : Define, document, and enforce best practices for test automation development and maintenance.

- CI/CD Integration : Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline for seamless delivery.

- Framework Enhancement : Continuously improve existing test frameworks and develop custom tools/scripts to optimize processes.

Key Focus Areas :

- Test Automation Expertise : Specialize in automating complex workflows, integration tests, and end-to-end scenarios.

- Cypress Proficiency : Demonstrated expertise with Cypress, including at least 1+ year of hands-on experience automating complex workflows and integrations.

- Technical Growth : Actively mentor and empower junior QEs, promoting knowledge sharing and technical development.

- Quality Advocacy : Collaborate across teams to ensure a culture of quality and robust software testing.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

- 5+ years of experience in software testing, with a focus on test automation.

- Expertise in test automation frameworks and tools (e.g, Cypress, Selenium, Playwright).

- Strong programming skills in languages like JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Java.

- Proficiency in integrating automated tests within CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.

- In-depth knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.

- Hands-on experience in API testing, performance testing, and load testing.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.

Preferred Skills :

- Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g, Docker, Kubernetes)

- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

- ISTQB or other relevant certifications
