Cherwell Developer

WORK TYPE: Full-Time

Role & responsibilities

• Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates information technology systems operations
• Determines user needs and requirements and recommends ways to improve systems
• Serves as primary point of contact between users and engineering/development staff
• Identifies, documents, reports and tracks system issues
• Supports the process of translating business needs into formal technical requirement deliverables
• Design, implement, and configure Cherwell Service Management workflows, forms, dashboards, and reports
• Develop and customize Cherwell integrations with other enterprise systems, using APIs, web services, or data imports/exports
• Create, maintain, and enhance Cherwell modules based on business requirements
• Collaborate with various business units to understand needs and deliver technical solutions
• Write, test, and maintain code in the Cherwell scripting environment, including CSM queries, triggers, and automations
• Ensure all configurations follow best practices for security, scalability, and performance
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including IT, business analysts, and project managers to define system requirements and deliver Cherwell solutions
• Participate in regular meetings with stakeholders to gather feedback, suggest improvements, and ensure the platform aligns with organizational goals

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
• Development experience with Cherwell
• Worked on User creation, user stories and blueprint
• Collaborates with other development staff to achieve quality and consistency
• Hands-on experience with Cherwell workflows, forms, and dashboards
• Familiarity with Cherwell's RESTful API and integration capabilities
• Experience with Cherwell upgrades, patches, and environment migrations
• Proficiency in Cherwell development tools such as Cherwell Designer, Service Desk, and System Configuration
• Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server) and writing SQL queries
• Familiarity with web services (SOAP, REST) and integrating third-party systems with Cherwell
• Experience with service management frameworks such as ITIL is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

• ITIL Foundation Certification (or equivalent)
• Cherwell Certification (Cherwell Certified Professional, Cherwell Certified Developer)
• Experience with cloud-based environments and DevOps processes is a plus
• Knowledge of other ITSM tools or platforms is beneficial
