Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Infra. Technology Specialist with 8 to 12 years of experience in Informix DB Administration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our database systems to ensure high performance and availability. Experience with AWS RDS is a plus.

Responsibilities

Manage and maintain Informix database systems to ensure optimal performance and availability.

Oversee database backup recovery and security measures to protect data integrity.

Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues.

Implement and monitor database performance tuning and optimization strategies.

Develop and maintain database documentation including configuration and maintenance procedures.

Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database solutions that meet business requirements.

Conduct regular database audits to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations with minimal downtime.

Monitor database health and proactively address potential issues before they impact operations.

Provide training and support to junior database administrators and other IT staff.

Evaluate and recommend new database technologies and tools to improve efficiency and performance.

Work closely with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of database systems with other applications and infrastructure.

Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical database systems.

Qualifications

Possess strong experience in Informix DB Administration.

Demonstrate knowledge of database backup recovery and security measures.

Show proficiency in database performance tuning and optimization.

Have experience with database upgrades and migrations.

Exhibit strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have experience with AWS RDS.

Display excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Have a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues.

Show commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Demonstrate ability to document and maintain database procedures.
