PLM Architect - Windchill (10-13 yrs)

Job Title : PLM Architect with Windchill.

Job Type : Freelance/Contract.

Location : Remote (with occasional travel, if required).

Experience : 10+ years in PLM solutions, including 5+ years of hands-on experience with Windchill.

Role Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled PLM Architect with extensive experience in Windchill to join our team on a freelance basis. The candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions that align with business goals and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the design and architecture of PLM solutions using Windchill, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

- Evaluate existing PLM systems and provide recommendations for improvements or upgrades.

- Define and manage the integration of Windchill with other enterprise systems (ERP, MES, CAD tools, etc.)

- Develop high-level and detailed design documents, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.

- Oversee the configuration, customization, and deployment of Windchill PLM solutions.

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to project teams.

- Conduct stakeholder meetings to understand and document requirements, translating them into technical solutions.

- Manage end-to-end project delivery, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.

- Create and implement best practices for data migration, system validation, and user training.

Required Skills and Experience :

Technical Expertise :

- Proficiency in PTC Windchill PLM, including modules like PDMLink, MPMLink, and ProjectLink.

- Experience with Windchill customization using Java, JSP, and Windchill APIs.

- Strong knowledge of PLM concepts, BOM management, workflows, and lifecycle states.

- Experience integrating Windchill with tools like SAP, Teamcenter, or other enterprise systems.

Tools and Technologies :

- Hands-on experience with CAD integrations (Creo, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.)

- Knowledge of database management systems (Oracle, SQL Server) and scripting languages.

- Familiarity with cloud-hosted PLM solutions is a plus.

Soft Skills :

- Strong communication and presentation skills for client interactions.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Certification in PTC Windchill or other PLM tools.

- Experience in migrating legacy systems to Windchill.

- Knowledge of Agile methodologies for project delivery.
