JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Position Title: Manager - R&D
Grade: M2
Location: Pelhar

Reports to (Position): Head - R&D

Scope: Technology Innovation, Product & Application development

I. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Lead new product development projects from customer order to acceptance.
2. New Products Trial Supervise New product trials at customer sites. Product training/briefing to be given to the customers.
3. Supervise and improve Product testing at the various stage during the development of new products
4. Responsible for technical guidance and support for existing products. Supporting in data-analysis & providing solutions to troubleshooting technical issues for internal and external customers
5. Manage projects related to cost-effective material development for the current range of products.
6. Lead new material development & new technology development for identified current & new markets.
7. Supervise and validate Systematic documentation of lab trials, customer technical visit reports with easy retrievability.

II. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION

• Knowledge:
• Knowledge of Adhesives, surface coatings and additives
• Understanding structure-properties relations of the RMs/Monomers used in adhesives, inks, paints and coatings
• Capable of co-relating product behavior to polymer properties and arriving at right technical solutions.
• Knowledge of Troubleshooting related to polymers
• Project management - leading, scoping, planning and execution.
• Knowledge on application and data analysis of various techniques such as: GC, FT-IR, TGA, DSC, optical microscopy and UTM for the characterization of polymer

III. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION

Qualification:

• Postgraduate in Chemistry or Polymer Chemistry

Experience:

• About 8 to 15 years of Technical experience in Synthesis/formulation of Adhesives, Paints & Coatings
• Working on New Products Development, Cost Reduction projects, Visiting customers for new product trials
• Hands-on experience in industrial Adhesives, inks or protective coatings
• New material development for new product/new customer.
• Development of Alternate sources for high volume and high impact materials
• Corrective action to be submitted for technical problems
