Responsibilities will be to teach English to secondary students (Classes 9 to 12), prepare them for board exams, and inspire them to develop a deep understanding and appreciation of the subject. Be responsible for implementing the CHIREC academic vision committed to the highest standards of student success.

Job description

• Create a safe and caring learning environment.
• Maintain effective classroom programs and establish classroom rules.
• Promote the improvement of teaching and learning in the school.
• Teach English at the secondary level (Classes 9 to 12) as per the prescribed curriculum.
• Developing comprehensive lesson plans and teaching strategies that adhere to the curriculum while engaging students effectively.
• Use a variety of teaching techniques (e.g., interactive lessons, problem-solving, real-life applications) to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
• Preparing, conducting, and evaluating exams, assignments, and projects. Providing regular feedback to students on their performance and guiding them on areas of improvement.
• Maintaining a disciplined and conducive learning environment. Managing student behavior and addressing any concerns related to the academic or behavioral aspect of students.
• Offering academic guidance to students, helping them improve their skills in writing, reading, and speaking English. Mentoring students with regards to their future academic or career aspirations.
• Participating in school activities, like organizing literary clubs, debates, or dramatics, to enhance the students interest and exposure in the subject.
• Working with other teachers, especially in interdisciplinary projects or school-wide events. Sharing resources and contributing to the development of the English curriculum.
• Attending workshops, seminars, and training programs to stay updated with the latest teaching methodologies, curriculum changes, and educational trends.
•  Communicating with parents regarding student progress, any academic challenges, and providing recommendations for improvement.

Position Requirements

• Enthusiastic about teaching and instilling a passion for English.
• Well-organized with good time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in English (M.A. English or equivalent).
• Bachelors degree in education (B.Ed.) is mandatory.
• A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in English at the secondary level (Classes 9 to 12).
