IGCSE Math Teacher

Job Title: IGCSE Mathematics Teacher (Grade 9 & 10)

The IGCSE Mathematics Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons to students in grades 9 and 10, preparing them for their IGCSE Mathematics examinations. The role requires expertise in teaching both the Core and Extended IGCSE Mathematics curriculum, fostering an understanding of mathematical concepts, and providing students with the necessary skills to succeed academically.

Key Responsibilities:

• Curriculum Delivery:
• Teach the IGCSE Mathematics curriculum to students in grades 9 and 10 (including both Core and Extended levels).
• Deliver lessons that cater to various learning styles, ensuring student engagement and understanding.
• Ensure that lessons are aligned with the IGCSE specifications and guidelines.
• Assessment and Evaluation:
• Plan and administer formative and summative assessments (tests, quizzes, homework, projects) to monitor students' progress.
• Provide regular and constructive feedback on students' work, guiding them on areas for improvement.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
• Prepare students for IGCSE examinations by focusing on exam technique, practice papers, and targeted revision.
• Classroom Management:
• Create a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation and confidence.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a focused, safe, and respectful atmosphere.
• Differentiation:
• Tailor lessons and assessments to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those with learning difficulties or advanced abilities.
• Parent and Student Communication:
• Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress and any concerns.
• Offer extra help or tutoring outside regular class hours for students who need additional support.
• Professional Development:
• Participate in school meetings, staff development workshops, and IGCSE-specific training to stay up to date with the latest teaching practices and curriculum updates.
• Stay informed on best practices in mathematics education and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
• Additional Responsibilities:
• Contribute to school-wide academic activities, such as open houses or extra-curricular events related to mathematics.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the mathematics department to share resources, teaching strategies, and experiences.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• A degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
• Teaching certification and 3 Years IGCSE Mathematics teaching experience is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with IGCSE exam formats, curriculum standards, and assessment methods.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for teaching and helping students succeed academically.
• Ability to adapt to diverse student needs and promote a positive learning environment.
