Finishing Engineer

The Finishing Engineer will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and ensuring high-quality finishing work in residential, commercial, or mixed-use real estate projects. The role involves overseeing interior and exterior finishing activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications, timelines, and quality standards.

Role & responsibilities

Execution & Supervision:

• Oversee and manage all finishing activities, including flooring, tiling, painting, false ceilings, wall cladding, doors & windows, woodwork, and façade finishes.
• Ensure that all finishing works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with MEP teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems with finishing works.
• Conduct site inspections, snag identification, and rectification before project handover.

Quality Control & Compliance:

• Monitor and enforce strict quality control measures for all finishing-related materials and workmanship.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and company quality policies.
• Work closely with the QA/QC team to conduct site audits, material inspections, and finishing mock-ups.
• Identify defects and deviations and implement corrective actions.

Project Coordination & Reporting:

• Plan and schedule finishing activities in coordination with civil, structural, and MEP teams to avoid delays.
• Liaise with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely material availability and work progress.
• Prepare and submit progress reports, snag lists, and work completion updates to the Project Manager.
• Assist in project handover documentation and client walkthroughs.

Cost Control & Resource Management:

• Monitor and control material consumption, wastage, and manpower utilization.
• Ensure that finishing works are completed within the allocated budget and approved BOQ (Bill of Quantities).
• Assist in the selection and approval of finishing materials in coordination with architects and procurement teams.

Key Requirements:

Education & Qualifications:

• B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.

Experience & Skills:

• 5-10 years of experience in finishing work execution for luxury residential, commercial, or high-rise projects.
• Strong knowledge of finishing materials, installation techniques, and industry best practices.
• Experience in managing subcontractors, vendors, and material procurement.
• Hands-on experience in snagging, rectifications, and final handover procedures.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, and construction management tools.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
