System Administrator

This is completely a remote position and flexibility with schedule to work US EST hours is a must. (5pm IST Start time.)

Position: Systems Administrator:

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the installation, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software systems
• Preform routine system updates, patches and upgrades
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality
• Assist in managing and troubleshooting network devices, including router, switches, and firewalls
• Help maintain network security protocols and access controls
• Collaborate with senior administrator to optimize network performance and reliability
• Set up and configure user accounts, email and access permissions
• Collaborate with the IT helpdesk to resolve user issues in a timely manner
• Assist In implementing and managing backup and disaster recovery solution
• Perform routine data backups and ensure data integrity
• Participate in disaster recovery drills and testing
• Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, Procedures, and troubleshooting steps
• Assist in implementing and enforcing security policies and protocols
• Monitor system logs for security breaches and unauthorized access
• Participate in security audits and vulnerability assessments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement technology solutions that support business objectives
• Assist in evaluating and recommending IT hardware and software purchases
• Ability and openness to learn security and architecture best practices
• Other duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications for Systems Administrator:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 5 years of work Experience supporting IT functions & infra teams

Skills required:

• Strong understanding of computer systems, networking, and IT infrastructure
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems
• Basic knowledge of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
• Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies
