Manager- HR Ops
Manager - HR Operations and Payroll is responsible for overseeing the efficient management of HR operations and payroll processes, including ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The role involves managing payroll processing, maintaining HR systems, handling employee records, and ensuring that HR reporting, metrics, and dashboards are in place to support strategic decision-making. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for driving HR compliance initiatives and maintaining accurate documentation for audits and labour law adherence.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Management:
- Oversee and manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax regulations and statutory deductions (PF, ESI, TDS, etc.).
- Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and respond to employee payroll-related queries promptly.
HR Operations:
- Manage the employee lifecycle (onboarding, offboarding, data management) through HRIS, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
- Regularly update HR policies and procedures to comply with legal standards and organizational goals.
- Manage day-to-day HR operations, including documentation, contract management, and adherence to labor laws.
HR Reporting and Dashboarding:
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR dashboards to provide real-time insights into key HR metrics such as employee turnover, headcount, attendance, payroll costs, and compliance status.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on HR metrics, performance trends, and payroll analytics for management.
- Use data-driven insights to provide recommendations for continuous improvement in HR operations.
HR Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and maintain accurate documentation for audits (internal/external) related to HR processes and payroll.
- Stay up-to-date with legislative changes affecting HR operations and payroll, ensuring timely updates to processes and systems.
- Drive initiatives for compliance audits, both statutory and internal, and coordinate with external agencies during inspections.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Manage employee compensation programs, including salary reviews, bonus schemes, and benefits administration.
- Collaborate with finance and other departments to ensure accurate payroll reporting and alignment with budgets.
Team Management:
- Lead, coach, and mentor the HR operations and payroll team to ensure a high level of performance and adherence to timelines.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., Darwinbox, KEKA etc) and advanced knowledge of MS Excel for dashboarding and reporting.
- Strong understanding of payroll and benefits management, including statutory regulations.
- Experience in HR metrics, dashboard creation, and data analysis to provide actionable insights.
- Thorough understanding of HR compliance and labor law requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 8-10 years of experience in HR operations, payroll management, and HR compliance.
- Proven experience in HR reporting, metrics, and dashboarding.
- Knowledge of Indian labor laws and statutory compliances.
Preferred:
- Postgraduate degree or MBA in HR or a related field.
- Experience in managing HR operations in a dynamic, fast-paced organization.
