We are currently looking for a Jr. QA Engineer (Manual) position. Please find the JD of the requirement below and about the organization Cast & Crew- The premier provider of production software, payroll, and services to the Global Entertainment Industry, headquartered in Burbank, CA.

Shift timings for the requirement will be Normal Shifts (10 am to 5 pm) from office and overlap by 2-3 hrs with PST timing from Home - HYBRID MODE (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday work from the office & Monday and Friday work from home).

Position Overview

As the QA Engineer, you will build upon your previous experience and expertise to take a QA engineer role in ensuring the quality and excellence of our NorthStar application. Collaborating closely with engineering and product teams, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and executing comprehensive test strategies to validate the application's functionality, performance, and user experience. Your domain knowledge of accounting software, combined with your technical acumen, will drive the development of efficient and effective testing processes.

Core Responsibilities

• Expertise in test planning, design, and execution.
• Use agile methodology to define test scenarios and write test scripts that follow real world business scenarios
• Execute manual test cases and document results
• Collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to define comprehensive test plans that cover all aspects of the application.
• Work with business stakeholders to understand the details of changes to write effective test cases
• Coordinate UAT with the business stakeholders
• Understand business processes and the product roadmap, analyze impacts of application changes on the test suite
• Work closely with other QA team members to refine testing practices and ensure effectiveness
• Work with development team members to proactively identify, communicate and resolve issues and risks that impede the execution and/or success of testing
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment

• Conduct in-depth exploratory testing to identify and document defects, potential user experiences issues, and areas for improvement.
• Participate in design reviews and provide input to ensure that the application's features are developed with testability in mind.
• Monitor test results and work closely with development teams to resolve defects and ensure timely bug fixes.
• Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and testing frameworks, integrating relevant tools and methodologies into the testing process.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in QA Engineering/Software testing, with a focus on testing complex applications.
• Thorough understanding of SDLC, STLC, QA methodologies, QA processes in agile development environments.
• Experience in preparing, executing and maintaining test cases.
• Strong understanding of functional and non-functional testing.
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the software development life cycle.
• Proven ability to contribute to the quality of the engineering process and methodology.
• Experience of testing large financial applications.
• Experience building and maintaining all QA documentation.
• Strong analytical abilities and proven test design skills.
• Proficient with bug tracking and test management tools like JIRA, to support development processes
• Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM development methodologies and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, customer-focused development environment.
• Knowledge of QA practices including functional application decomposition, test planning and test case development.
• Practical knowledge and experience with relational databases.
• Domain knowledge in accounting software, along with a proven ability to leverage this knowledge to create effective test strategies.
• Must be capable and willing to learn complex systems with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of QA Automation Tools, writing scripts, a plus.
• Experience working with Version Control tools such GitHub and ALM tools such AzureDevOps, a plus.
