We are currently looking for a Senior Database Engineer (MS SQL Server) position. Shift timings for the requirement will be General shift - 9:30 am-6:30 pm from Office, overlap with PST timing for an hour till 10:00 pm IST from home - HYBRID MODE (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday work from the office & Monday and Friday work from home). requirements

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Engineer with a strong background in MS SQL Server to join our production support team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of our SQL Server environments, providing critical support to our production systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Database Development:
• Proven ability to develop complex queries in stored procedures and functions involving multiple tables/views/CTEs.
• Deep knowledge of levels of normalization and keeping de-normalization in mind while designing schemas/tables and ensuring data integrity and performance.
• Proven ability to work with complex queries and to conduct detail and thorough analysis of data correctness and troubleshooting and fixing issues in stored procedures related to complex calculations and business logics.
• Expertise in building high performance complex reporting queries while applying SQL aggregate functions on large tables and views.
• Proficient knowledge in use of database concepts like Views, Functions, Joins, Indexes, Subqueries, CTE, Temp Tables, etc. to help solve complex problems.
• Ability to work with other engineers (developer or QA) to analyze database performance and identify problems in areas such as: execution plans, index coverage, and SQL server statistics.
• A thorough understanding of Performance Monitoring, Tuning and Optimization, using native (ie. SQL Profiler) and third-party monitoring and troubleshooting tools (ie. Redgate,).
• Experience developing Jasper reports, SSIS, and SSRS reports is a plus.
• PowerShell scripting experience with ability to write automated scripts. Strong knowledge of system tables and DMVs is a plus.
• Performance Monitoring & Tuning:
• Ability to troubleshoot database performance issues using various tools and techniques.
• Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and database configurations to improve performance and efficiency.
• Address performance bottlenecks and implement best practices to ensure optimal database performance.
• Automation & Scripting:
• Develop and maintain scripts for automating routine tasks, such as ad-hoc reports, monitoring, and alerting.
• Identify opportunities for automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Collaboration & Documentation:
• Work closely with application developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to support database-related activities.
• Document database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides to ensure knowledge transfer and continuity.

Technologies:

• Primary:
• MS SQL Server 2019
• T-SQL scripting
• Jasper Reports(I-Report)
• Additional:
• Experience with Java and Spring framework is a plus.
• Familiarity with SQL Server Always On, clustering, and replication.
• Knowledge of SSIS and SSRS is a plus

Qualifications:

• Experience:
• 6+ years of experience working with MS SQL 2012 or above. Experience in 2019 is a plus.
• Proven experience in managing large-scale, high-availability SQL Server environments.
• Experience with payroll or accounting calculations is a plus.
• Any Computer Science graduate.
• Technical Skills:
• Deep expertise in MS SQL Server development, including backup and recovery, performance tuning, and disaster recovery.
• Proficient in T-SQL scripting, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with database monitoring tools and automation techniques.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong independent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.
