The Opportunity:
- Capgemini is seeking a Portfolio Manager / Director level executive to provide oversight and future direction for the Guidewire capability unit within the Financial Services business unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand the clients vision, requirements, and project scope, and translate them into a high-level conceptual architecture for COTS product implementation as a target system.
- Design the integration between subsystems, services, and third-party systems by identifying key interactions, establishing architectural patterns, and defining security mechanisms.
- Take full accountability for the technical solution by ensuring alignment with business needs throughout the project lifecycle. Supervise the technical team to ensure implementation follows the designed architecture, review critical or complex components, and assist with troubleshooting technical issues as they arise.
- Drive solution design workshops and prepare and present design alternatives to the design board.
- Participate in the Architecture Review Board, Change Approval Board, and Design Review Board to evaluate and review proposed designs in alignment with the conceptual architecture as per the project.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate in client visits and contribute to RFPs by providing technical expertise, presenting architectural solutions, and ensuring alignment between client needs and proposed system designs.
- Participate in the hiring process for Architects/Tech Leads and stay updated on Guidewire product developments and relevant training opportunities to ensure the team remains knowledgeable and skilled in the latest advancements.
- Contribute to the creation of COTS go-to-market assets by designing reusable components and accelerators.
- Engage and drive workshops with the COTS Product/Support team while working on solutions or issue resolutions.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- He/She/They will have 15-20 years of experience in IT, preferably Insurance domain with 10 years on COTS products including but not limited to Guidewire. Candidate must have a strong architectural track record and demonstrated the successful execution of large-scale transformation programs. A bachelors degree in engineering is required.
- This person is motivated to deliver high-quality work to drive customer satisfaction. They use their intellect, insight, and ability to build creative solutions with clients and colleagues while embracing a collaborative mindset. Key qualifications include:
- Must Have:
- The role requires the architect to excel in both advisory and delivery capacities to lead an insurance transformation program. This includes delivering conceptual architecture, high-level solution design (HLSD), recommending technology, presenting trade-off analyses to management, and coaching the project team on guiding principles and standards on a platform.
- Excellent written and communication skills. Must be able to drive and participate in client presentations and orals for proposals on program technical architecture.
- Ability to keep up with the latest business and technology trends in insurance and cloud computing areas.
Good to Have:
- Experience or ability to work as a Guidewire technical architect/solutions architect.
- Ability to understand Guidewire Cloud Platform features and their cloud value, including Advanced Product Designer, Integration Gateway, App Events, and Rest Client Framework.
- Fair understanding of Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps strategy.
- Experience with the ACCORD framework.
- Strong knowledge of solutioning on SaaS platforms is an added advantage.
- Certified in Guidewire ACE, TOGAF, and SAFe Architect.
