Position: Senior Program Leader People & Culture

Location: Noida (Uttar Pradesh)

Renumeration: CSP INR 17.90 -20.14 Lakhs / Annum

Role Details:

Reports to: Head of Finance & People (HFP)

  • Responsible for: The SPLPC has the role of overseeing Brooke India (BI) People functions, and ensuring that BI is a happy team working towards organizational vision and mission, with equal opportunities to upskill in professional and personal domains
  • Location: Based in the BI Head Office at Noida, Uttar Pradesh with 50% travel within the country; and occasional wider international travel
  • Employment Type: The position shall be on a Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) for one year after which it may be considered for further extension for another two years and beyond based on your performance and organizational requirements, as decided by the management.

Purpose of the Role:


This will be a Senior Management Team (SMT) position. The SPLPC has the role of ensuring that Brooke India is a happy team working towards organizational vision and mission. The role will be responsible for overseeing HR functions, including policy development, employee relations and managing administrative tasks while ensuring that BI is a happy team working towards organizational vision and mission. The role will ensure that there is equal opportunity to all to upskill in professional and personal domains.

The role will Manage compensation and benefits to ensure they remain competitive and support the organization's overall strategy and ensure compliance with all legal requirements related to HR & Admin, including but not limited to labour laws, EEOC regulations, and employment practices. They will manage the administration function, including facilities management, travel, and office operations.

The SPLPC will create training programs that are aligned with the organizations objectives and having a strong understanding of what these are, to build individual capacity and effectiveness of the Brooke India employees and those of partners.

The role will be the internal senior resource to engender the Brooke Way of Working. Focus on organizational development, team building, and coaching in developing global standards of work place environment management which include value systems, knowledge of standards and regulations pertaining to safeguarding. Viz. Gender equality, SHWW, POCSO, etc. across the organization and partnerships.

Work as part of the team to build, align, integrate, and execute programs and processes being key people and learning focal point for the organization.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities:


Human Resources and People Management:

  • Support the Head of Finance and People with people management and development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with function and unit supervisors on all HR-related matters, including planning, recruitment, staff selection, offers, briefings, and staff welfare.
  • Provide ongoing HR support to supervisors across functions and units.
  • Establish and enforce Staff Regulations for Brooke India, ensuring compliance with relevant labour laws.
  • Oversee the administration of HR policies and programs, including compensation and benefits, staffing, training, employee relations, compliance, international staff welfare activities, and other key administrative functions.
  • Partner with management and international colleagues to continuously enhance HR systems and practices, including the development of a "People Strategy."
  • Effectively implement the annual training plan, ensuring alignment with quality standards and reviewing and addressing evolving training needs.
  • Review and update the staff handbook ensuring compliance with local laws and best practices.

Recruitment and Performance Management:

  • Lead recruitment efforts for staff and consultants, including preparing contracts and developing remuneration packages in line with organizational salary structures.
  • Lead the implementation of performance appraisals for all staff.

Organizational Development, Culture and Learning:

  • Design and implement processes related to Recruitment, Performance Management, Succession Planning, Career Development, and Learning & Development to support staff growth.
  • Lead and drive organizational change, transformation, and continuous improvement to foster a positive, respectful, and productive work environment.
  • Support organizational development and capacity-building initiatives, both advisory and hands-on, across all Brooke India.
  • Conduct training needs analysis and assess organizational training requirements at all levels.
  • Build staff capacity in various programmatic areas, including community development, livelihood, gender equality, animal welfare, ethology, humane handling, MEAL, project management, leadership, communication, and other professional development areas.
  • Foster partnerships with key stakeholders in the areas of culture, learning, safeguarding, and employee wellbeing and deliver innovative, sustainable, and effective learning solutions to support staff development.
  • Organize workshops, events, and orientation sessions for new joiners, ensuring their smooth integration into the organization.
  • Serve as the focal point for Safeguarding (SFG) within Brooke India, ensuring SFG policies are effectively implemented and resolving any complaints in collaboration with BI DC & IC.

Administration and Operations:

  • Supervise the day-to-day administration of HR-related policies and programs, including compensation and benefits, staffing, training, employee relations, compliance, international activities, staff welfare, and other administrative functions.
  • Audit and oversee the procurement, recording, distribution, maintenance, and disposal of Brooke India assets, ensuring efficient asset management.
  • Oversight to ensure repair or re-installation of office equipment, liaising with relevant personnel as needed, in consultation with the CEO.

Security Coordination:

  • Ensure security systems, procedures, and resources to minimize risks to staff and visitors.
  • Continuously monitor the safety and security situation in Brooke Indias operational areas.
  • Ensure security briefings to overseas visitors prior to their arrival and manage any emerging risk or safety situations.

IT Support & Management:

  • Manage the IT support team to ensure the timely and efficient resolution of technical issues encountered by staff.
  • Oversee hardware and software support, ensuring that organizational operational needs are met and supervise the timely purchase and renewal of server licenses and other essential software.
  • Collaborate with IT vendors and suppliers to ensure access to the necessary resources and support.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize IT support processes and improve the overall efficiency of technical services.

Perform additional tasks as required by the Head of Finance and People or CEO.

Qualification and Experience :

Essential

  • Masters's degree in human resources Industrial / Organization Development or related field is required or any Degree / Bachelors degree in business administration, management, or related field with 10 years experience in HR and Admin
  • Led formal Organization Development and Training interventions
  • Familiarity with budget planning and enforcement, human resources, and customer service procedures.
  • Proven ability to facilitate small and large training and team effectiveness sessions (live and remotely) and experience with various learning technologies.
  • Familiarity with HR systems, including talent and learning management systems.
  • Work experience with an NGO preferably an International NGO.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Natural team player with a strong focus and flair for people development
  • Have love for animals and be willing to work for their welfare

Desirable

  • Knowledgeable about instructional design methodology and application for effective adult learning.
  • Has IT related skills with knowledge of networking, servers etc
  • Have established themselves in the market place as credible in culture, cultural change and change management practices.
  • Strong analytical skills
