DGM/GM (Contract)

Role & responsibilities

• Ensure that economies of scale are leveraged across all Contract types and drive effective value engineering for maximizing cost advantage to the organization
• Provide guidance for commercial negotiations with contractors and third party vendors to drive cost savings
• Ensure accurate estimation of BOQ to optimize costs for the Organization & Ensure timely resolution of queries and concerns of site teams/contractors with respect to the terms and conditions of contract, BOQ and payment terms
• Monitor adherence to the Project budget and investigate any discrepancies
• Ensure coordination with Internal Departments for incorporating all relevant aspects into contracts, in a timely manner
• Drive the tendering and contracting process for contracts. Direct tender evaluation and preparation of comparative statements
• Develop framework and guidelines for preparation of Civil, Services and Landscape contracts
• Ensure timely formulation of contracts and coordinate with the Legal Department for legal clauses validation and Projects Team for technical evaluation
• Ensure all contract documents are prepared while evaluating the scope to accommodate re-engineering & value engineering etc.
• Finalize contractual documentation and ensure signoff from both parties
• Establish criteria for the selection of contractors on the basis of techno- commercial evaluation of the same and monitor their performance on a periodic basis
• Drive effective relationship management with contractors (existing and new)
• Encourage Market research and analysis for identification and selection of vendors for all project related areas- Civil, Services and Development (Hard and soft landscape.
• Drive the vendor performance evaluation process and establish criteria for the same; Initiate corrective action where necessary
• Periodically review Department MIS to analyze the efficiency of the contracting activities and initiate improvements if required
• Conduct performance appraisals on departmental staff / personnel and ensure adherence to performance management system timelines for completion of various processes
• Assess training and development requirements of subordinates and assist in conducting trainings for the Site Team to educate them on Electrical Services, Coordinate with the HR Department to ensure fulfilment of requirements

Preferred candidate profile

• 12-15 years of experience in the area of Contract management with at least 4-5 years in the Real Estate/ Infrastructure/ Construction/ Related Industry
• Graduate in Civil Engineering
