Cloud Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Automation of infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes using tools like Terraform.
• Continuously monitor cloud services to ensure uptime, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Implement security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and threat protection to ensure a secure Azure environment.
• Work closely with application developers, system administrators, and other IT professionals to deliver integrated solutions.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of cloud infrastructure, processes, and best practices.
• Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) to support application deployment and scalability.
• Implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Work closely with development, testing, and operations teams to ensure smooth collaboration and efficient delivery.
• Create weekly and monthly reports on cloud usage and recommend optimization strategies.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in CloudOps or a related field.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, Shell).
• Experience with cloud platforms AWS or Azure or GCP (preferred is Azure)
• Knowledge of containerization technologies Docker, Kubernetes.
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet).
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Understanding of Linux or Unix operating systems

Added responsibilities

• Perform continuous optimization for cost and utilization to reduce overall spent on infrastructure.
