General Responsibilities :
Requirements Elicitation of PMO assigned Projects
- The Business Analyst is responsible for eliciting and translating business requirements from internal customers (business users) into functional and non-functional requirements to be used by software development teams or vendors in support of delivering the technical solutions to meet the business objectives.
- Solutions include Information Technology based solutions from low to high levels of complexity.
- Works as a liaison between business users and technical staff to facilitate communication and ensure an understanding of the requirements.
- Participates in the development or procurement process as the requirements liaison between the business customer and the development team and/or vendor.
- Translate business needs into system requirements and change requests by working closely with project sponsors and business owners to understand business processes and recommend innovative solutions.
- Applies best practices and established standards to elicit, analyze, document, validate and communicate requirements, business processes, and business rules.
- Applies best practices and established standards to manage requirements artefacts throughout the development/procurement lifecycle.
- Coordinates requirements clarification and resolution of issues/concerns identified by all stakeholders, and updates requirements artefacts to reflect the resolution.
- Documents the technical design of business systems solutions.
- Designs or prototype components such as the user interface, reports, workflows, etc. to effectively translate business requirements into functional requirements for developers or support vendors.
- Assimilates, integrates, and interfaces technical knowledge with business/systems requirements.
- Business Intelligence: responsible for applying business process knowledge and data analytics to develop, recommend and communicate timely, accurate, relevant, and actionable insights to support business decisions and objectives.
- Uses knowledge of business and data to discover and/or anticipate problems or opportunities where data can be leveraged to address the need.
- Asks probing questions to translate business needs in order to build and design reporting solutions (metric management, dashboards, enterprise performance management).
- Documents reporting and BI requirements to facilitate the translation of technology solutions to meet the defined business objectives.
- Conducts verification of IT solutions to ensure user requirements and business value is achieved.
- Work closely with training managers and facilitators to define requirements to deliver the training to support the business needs.
- Organise and lead productive meetings with focus on stakeholders' satisfaction.
Team Management and Development of People :
- Required to supervise cross functional teams seconded to handle project related assignments such as User
- Acceptance testing, requirements analyses etc. for projects with long duration, the incumbent may be required to administer Performance Management Review updates for assigned testing staff during the year.
- Ensures the development and maintenance of technical skills, knowledge of bank products/services, policies and procedures to ensure service quality standards of IT and Business users.
Initiative and Productivity :
- Ensure that all system management policies and procedures employed by the bank are used and adhered to.
- Demonstrate service sensitivity in assisting and ensuring that technical decisions minimizes negative impact on the end users and our customers.
- Provides expert knowledge representation of the IT unit in cross-departmental project teams, providing a high level of IT consultative services during the project initiation and implementation process where creative, innovative and insightful technical guidance in the area of specialty is required.
- Understand which resources would be appropriate to help define and validate both requirements and specifications within a given project/product scope.
- Spearhead technical solution that will drive innovation and improvements that will result in changes to current methods, procedures and processes for the business as follows:
- Actively research and test new technologies to drive business recommendations through project o business case proposals.
- Drive innovations or improvements in specialty areas.
- Collaborate with intra and inter departmental peers to understand challenges or opportunities and design solutions to address.
Minimum Qualifications :
Education :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline
- Completion of formal training in Business Analysis; including Requirements Elicitation and User
Acceptance Testing :
- Completion of formal training in Project Management Certification (e.g. PMP )
Experience :
- At least three years' experience as a Software Development Lead
- At least three years' experience providing Business Analysis for Software Implementations with focus on IT and technical projects; specifically, in the areas of requirements elicitation, user acceptance testing and business case review and documentation
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies
- Application development in multiple technologies
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio & MS Project) and related productivity tools

- Must possess expert knowledge of the banks products and services, with the ability to understand the operational setup and maintenance required for the delivery of these services to the customer.
- Must possess expert knowledge in the functionality of the critical software applications used by the bank.
- Through understanding of the bank's computer operating environment and suite of implemented applications.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in information management tools/product suites and best practices, and demonstrated leadership in establishing and enforcing information management disciplines, governance and standards.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the support and management of and/or directing the support and management of complex business critical systems and applications across multiple business processes and technologies.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle process, production acceptance, project management, database technology, and operating system components.
- In-depth understanding and demonstrated experience applying IT systems management disciplines.
- Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail as well as the ability to focus on the overall objective of a given task/project and strong understanding of technology solutions and systems integration.
- Comprehension of the business impacts of applications running on various platforms and how they support the business
- Strong knowledge of application development technologies and experience managing diverse teams.
- Demonstrated experience and working knowledge of technical and business issues in all of the following areas : Application development and support, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC),
- Operations/Production support including incident/crisis management and root cause analysis.
