Frontend Engineer
The role
The Frontend Engineer is a vital role within the Blenheim Chalcot portfolio and Modulr. This role will support the continuous improvement and innovation of our frontend systems, ensuring they are robust, efficient and scalable. You will gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and progressive environment, where you will support us in building our next generation of GenAI enabled tech businesses.
Key responsibilities
Develop and ship small to medium-sized features, components and improvements independently, collaborating with the team on larger initiatives.
Collaborate with Product Management, UX/UI Designers, Backend Engineers and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality standards and best practices.
Craft code that meets internal standards for style and maintainability, advocating for these standards through code reviews.
Mentor and support other engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
Work in an agile environment, using Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
Coordinate with QA teams to ensure thorough testing and quality assurance.
Troubleshoot and continuously learn from production issues, so we can build better and more reliable software for the future.
Proactively identify and address issues, bottlenecks or areas for improvement.
About you
A successful Software Engineer will have a track-record in delivering results in a fast-moving business and hence be comfortable with change and uncertainty. Excellent stakeholder management experience is essential to being successful in this role.
The Ideal Candidate
Expert in JavaScript (ES6) or TypeScript, with proven development experience in Angular and related technologies
Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS/SCSS
Experience in designing, building and maintaining frontend solutions consuming RESTful APIs.
Experience in TDD, writing testable code and unit/integrations tests.
Experience with (or a willingness to embrace) DevOps culture by maintaining operational excellence and contributing to Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Previous experience working with AWS systems and frameworks is a bonus, but not essential.
You are a self-starter and collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
As a strong problem-solver, you have the ability to apply analytical, critical thinking to identify key solutions.
Strong understanding of quality concepts and practices, ensuring high standards in all deliverables.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in managing code reviews and providing feedback.
