Job Description

Position: Accountant - Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSF)

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare Financial Statements and Tax Returns for Self-Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSFs) in compliance with the SIS Act and Australian Income Tax Act.
• Conduct audits of financial statements, ensuring adherence to the SIS Act and Income Tax Act, and prepare relevant audit reports and letters.
• Submit written reports to the Australian Tax Office (ATO) on contraventions of the SIS Act that may impact the interests of fund members or beneficiaries.
• Provide trustees with management letters or audit finalization reports summarizing audit findings, actions taken or proposed, and potential weaknesses in administrative procedures or systems.
• Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and GST Returns.
• Research technical accounting and taxation issues.
• Handle all aspects of client work, including compliance, tax planning, and advisory.
• Advise on SMSF administration and operational matters, such as fund establishment, adding trustees/members, and asset valuation.
• Guide clients on compliance with in-house asset rules and adjusting contribution levels due to changes in superannuation guarantee rates.
• Assist with the transfer or roll-over of funds into or out of SMSFs, where decisions have already been made.
• Liaise with ATO, ASIC, and OSR regarding taxation, audit, and SMSF-related issues.

Educational Qualifications and Skills:

• Inter CA or equivalent accounting qualification with relevant work experience.
• Candidates with B.Com or M.Com degrees and additional qualifications or experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in SMSF accounting is required.
• Proven expertise in accounting, auditing, and taxation.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Good to average communication skills.

Experience Required:

• At least 1 year of experience in SMSF and proven experience in accounting, audit, and taxation roles.

Location:

• Vadodara, Gandhinagar

Work Timings:

• Monday to Saturday: 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
• 1st, 3rd, and 5th Saturdays are off.
