Production Manager

Overview: Responsible for the efficient and effective management of the entire production process (from raw material issuance to finished goods delivery), optimizing production processes to achieve quality + cost + delivery targets, leading a team of production personnel and ensuring adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and production schedules

Scope of Work:

1. Develop and implement production plans and schedules in line with sales forecasts and inventory targets, monitor production performance against the plan, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to ensure targets are met
2. Oversee the efficient utilization of raw materials, and collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of quality raw materials
3. Direct and supervise all manufacturing operations, ensure adherence to established procedures, SOPs, and quality control standards, and continuously evaluate and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality
4. Implement and enforce quality control measures throughout the production process, work closely with the quality control department to identify and resolve quality issues promptly, and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and certifications
5. Prioritize safety by implementing and enforcing strict safety protocols and procedures, conduct regular safety audits and training programs for production personnel, and investigate and address any safety incidents or near misses
6. Lead, motivate, and develop a team of production supervisors, operators, and other personnel, provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to enhance team capabilities and productivity, foster a positive and collaborative work environment
7. Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives in all areas of production, including raw material usage, energy consumption, labour costs, and waste reduction, monitor production costs and analyze variances
8. Collaborate with the maintenance department to ensure the proper maintenance and repair of production equipment, develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment lifespan
9. Manage work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods inventory levels to optimize inventory holding costs, and ensure timely delivery of products to customers
10. Prepare and submit regular production reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs), production output, quality metrics, and cost analysis, communicate effectively with other departments, including PPC, procurement, quality control, dispatch and maintenance
11. Champion a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process optimization, implementing lean manufacturing principles, and encouraging employee involvement in problem-solving and process improvement initiatives
