Job Description

Core Purpose of the Role:


To provide high-level financial analysis and strategic support to the Founder Director, ensuring data-driven decision-making, legal compliance, and financial optimization. This role will serve as a detailed analyst, offering actionable insights and managing key projects that align with the company's long-term vision and growth strategy.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Financial Analysis & Strategy:
    • Provide the Founder Director with in-depth financial analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to influence strategic decisions.
    • Prepare comprehensive financial models, including P&L, cash flow forecasts, and ROI projections, tailored to business needs.
    • Assist in long-term financial planning and scenario analysis to guide strategic initiatives and investments.
  • Legal Interpretation & Compliance:
    • Act as the go-to person for interpreting financial and corporate legal frameworks, ensuring all operations comply with current laws.
    • Collaborate with the legal team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial activities, tax regulations, and corporate governance.
    • Proactively update the Founder Director on any relevant changes in financial or regulatory laws and their potential impact.
  • Project Management & Execution:
    • Oversee key financial projects, including budgeting, financial audits, and special initiatives as directed by the Founder.
    • Track and manage cross-functional projects from start to finish, ensuring milestones are met and reports are delivered on time.
    • Provide day-to-day support to the Founder Director, handling priority tasks, preparing presentations, and managing executive communications.
  • Cost & Efficiency Optimization:
    • Conduct deep-dive analysis into operational costs, highlighting areas for potential savings without compromising quality or performance.
    • Present recommendations for process improvements that drive financial efficiency and enhance organizational profitability.
  • Board & Stakeholder Reporting:
    • Prepare high-level reports and financial summaries for board meetings and key stakeholders, making complex data accessible and actionable.
    • Support the Founder Director in crafting presentations that reflect the financial health and strategic direction of the business.
  • Confidential Financial Advising:
    • Serve as a confidential advisor on financial matters, providing the Founder with a clear understanding of the financial implications of various business decisions.
    • Handle sensitive information with discretion, ensuring the Founder has all necessary insights to navigate financial challenges and opportunities.

Key Metrics (KRs):


  • Deliver accurate and actionable financial reports, projections, and models for the Founder Director within agreed timelines.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with all relevant legal and financial regulations, including tax and corporate governance.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives, delivering at least 10% reduction in operational costs annually.
  • Manage and deliver successful outcomes for key financial and strategic projects, ensuring no delays or budget overruns.
  • Present quarterly financial insights that lead to improved decision-making and business growth.

Key Leadership Competencies:


  • Strategic Insight: Ability to anticipate the Founders needs and proactively provide financial and legal insights that guide business direction.
  • High Accountability: Trusted to handle confidential and high-stakes financial matters with precision and integrity.
  • Detail-Oriented & Analytical: Delivers accurate, detailed financial reports and legal interpretations while maintaining the big picture.
  • Communication & Influence: Able to clearly convey complex financial and legal information to the Founder, Board, and stakeholders.
  • Initiative & Proactive Support: Seeks out opportunities for efficiency and improvement, presenting actionable ideas without waiting for directives.

Knowledge & Experience Required:


  • Financial Expertise: Deep understanding of financial analysis, modeling, and reporting, with a focus on driving business decisions.
  • Legal Knowledge: Strong understanding of corporate law, tax regulations, and financial compliance.
  • Project Management: Experience in managing high-level, cross-functional projects from inception to completion.
  • Experience: 5+ years in a financial analysis role, preferably with exposure to executive or founder-level advising.
  • Education: CA/CFA/MBA Finance or similar, with legal certifications or experience being a strong asset.
