Technical Superintendent

The role of Technical Superintendent will be responsible for technical aspects of the vessels. The key responsibility ensures technical support to the vessels whilst they are on a voyage.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Incident Management: Look into technical incidents of vessels and provide all the preventive measures.
• Vessel Maintenance & Compliance: Supervise the Implementation of Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS) with the assigned vessels & ensure timely completion of jobs. Maintaining Vessel Performance data to identify potential issues and provide corrective actions. Reviewing and approving repair scopes for dry - docking Technical Support: Provide Technical advice and support to the ship’s crew regarding machinery and repairs. Monitor and analyse the fuel consumption and bunker management.
• Safety & Environmental Compliance: Ensuring adherence to all safety regulations and procedures onboard vessel. Conduct Safety Audits and Inspections to identify areas for advancement.
• Crew Management: Collaborating with the Ship Management Team to address Crew Performance and issues related to Technical Operations.
• Inventory Management: Managing the inventory of spare parts and consumables to optimize costs and its availability.
• Communication: Coordinating with the Chief Engineer of the assigned vessels on daily basis.
• Emergency Response: Providing Technical Expertise during Emergency situations onboard vessels.
• Vessel & Compliance Certificate Management: Maintain and renew certificates (e.g., Safety Management, Load Line, Pollution Prevention) to ensure compliance, safety, and smooth operations.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Bachelors degree in Marine Engineering/ Mechanical/ Electrical Engineer or a related field is preferred.
• Candidates who have Sailed as a Second Engineer Or Chief Engineer with an experience of minimum 4-5 years in Shipping Industry or previous experience in the Maritime Industry is desirable, particularly in vessel operations, maintenance, or technical support will be an added advantage.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate documentation.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with colleagues across different departments.
• Chief Engineer Certification is Mandatory.
