Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head / Senior Manager - Electrical
Engineer to lead the electrical engineering team at our Direct Reduced Iron (DRI)
Plant. The role involves overseeing all electrical systems within the plant, ensuring
reliable and efficient operation of electrical equipment, power distribution, and
automation systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing
electrical projects in heavy industrial environments, with a focus on safety,
compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Electrical System Management: Oversee the operation, maintenance, and
troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment, including transformers,
motors, switchgears, power distribution systems, and control systems within
the DRI plant.
• Project Leadership: Lead and manage electrical projects from design to
completion, including upgrades, new installations, and modifications to
existing systems. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure the
integration of electrical systems with plant operations.
• Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive
and predictive maintenance programs to ensure the continuous and efficient
operation of electrical systems, minimizing downtime and optimizing plant
performance.
• Automation & Control: Manage the plants automation systems, including
PLCs, SCADA, and DCS. Work with the instrumentation and control teams to
ensure reliable and efficient automation of plant processes.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all electrical systems comply with local
regulations, industry standards, and safety protocols. Implement and enforce
safety measures to protect personnel and equipment from electrical hazards.
• Energy Efficiency & Optimization: Monitor and improve the energy
efficiency of electrical systems. Identify opportunities for energy-saving
initiatives and implement best practices to reduce power consumption in the
plant
• Budgeting &Resource Management: Manage the budget for electrical
projects and maintenance. Ensure optimal use of resources, including
personnel, equipment, and materials, while controlling costs and meeting
project deadlines.
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead a team of electrical engineers and
technicians, providing mentorship, training, and guidance. Foster a culture of
continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and problem-solving within
the team.
• Vendor & Contractor Coordination: Collaborate with external vendors,
suppliers, and contractors for the procurement, installation, and
commissioning of electrical equipment and systems. Manage relationships to
ensure the quality and timely delivery of services.
• Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Act as the technical expert for
diagnosing and resolving complex electrical issues. Provide solutions to
ensure minimal disruption to plant operations.
• Collaboration with Plant Operations: Work closely with the operations and
maintenance teams to ensure the seamless integration of electrical systems
with the plants overall production goals.
Qualifications:
• Education:

• Experience:
within heavy industrial plants, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial
role.

Technical Skills:
• Expertise in electrical systems, power distribution, motor control centres, and
high-voltage equipment.
• Proficiency in automation and control systems (PLCs, SCADA, DCS).
• Strong understanding of energy management, power quality, and load
balancing.
