About the job National Lead - Curriculum and Training

Position: National Lead - Curriculum and Training

Location: New Delhi (with frequent travel to project sites)

What Youll Do:

As the National Lead for Curriculum and Training, you will spearhead the strategy to integrate wellbeing content and perspectives into education systems across multiple states in India. You will lead the creation of innovative, evidence-based, and contextually relevant curriculum, collaborating closely with local and national partners as well as government systems. Ensuring the content is not only developed but also delivered with excellence at every level, you will design the training strategy for staff, government partners, and thousands of teachers as we scale across five states, focusing on high-quality, impactful training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Innovation: Lead the national curriculum design team in developing innovative, evidence-based curricula that support mental health, resilience, and well-being in classrooms across India.
  • Strategic Leadership: Create and implement a national strategy for the design and delivery of training programs, ensuring that the curriculum is effectively delivered across multiple states by diverse stakeholders, including government officials, teachers, and NGOs.
  • Training Excellence: Oversee the design, implementation, and certification of all training programs including training for master trainers, government officials, and hundreds of thousands of teachers as the program expands to five states within five years.
  • Quality Assurance: Develop and maintain a rigorous certification process to ensure all trainers (internal and external) meet the highest standards of quality. Oversee training implementation to guarantee consistency and effectiveness in curriculum delivery.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a dynamic team of curriculum designers and trainers at the national and state levels, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts, government partners, and other stakeholders to ensure curricula are tailored to meet the unique needs of each state and stakeholder group.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Establish formal and informal assessments to track the effectiveness of curricula and training programs, using feedback to continuously improve content and delivery methods.
  • Resource Development: Create supplementary guides, digital resources, and training materials that empower trainers and teachers to deliver the curriculum effectively in diverse settings.
  • National Expansion Support: Contribute to the strategic scaling of the program, ensuring that both curriculum and training can be rapidly expanded and adapted to new geographies.

What Were Looking For:

  • Curriculum Training Expertise: 10+ years of experience in curriculum development and training design, preferably in education, social sciences, or related fields. You have a track record of delivering innovative and impactful curriculum and training programs.
  • Leadership Strategy: Proven experience in leading national-level curriculum and training initiatives, with a passion for scaling educational programs to reach new geographies and audiences.
  • Passion for Well-being: A deep commitment to mental health and well-being, with a drive to ensure that educational systems nurture the whole child.
  • Expert Trainer: You know what it takes to deliver world-class training and can design programs that build the capacity of master trainers, government officials, and school teachers alike.
  • Systems Thinker: You understand the complexities of scaling programs across multiple states and can develop strategies that align with the political and educational contexts of each region.
  • Collaborative Leader: You can manage cross-functional teams and work with diverse stakeholders from government officials to NGOs to internal teams ensuring that everyone is aligned and moving towards the same goal.
  • Data-Driven Innovator: You use feedback and data to inform decisions, continuously improving curriculum and training quality through a cycle of learning and adaptation.
  • Bilingual Skills: Fluency in English and Hindi (additional languages a plus) to ensure curriculum and training are accessible across multiple regions.
