Role Overview

In order to expand Arthans mission, there is a growing need to deepen support to existing partners as well as cultivate new projects that cater to the most pressing organisational development challenges in organisations across the board. As such, Arthan is seeking to hire a full-time Organisational Development Lead to focus on the strengthening of two key areas of work:

  • Building the field: Identify and onboard new key partners across gender, climate and other sectors across the social impact space.
  • Organisational development: Lead our organizational development practice for partner organizations and strengthen organizational development practices among our broader network.

Role Description

As the Organisational Development (OD) Lead, you will play a pivotal role in designing, building and scaling our OD practice. The position requires a dynamic professional who combines subject matter expertise with entrepreneurial thinking, business acumen, and a passion for driving social impact. Your responsibilities will span across business development, service delivery, team management, and thought leadership, as outlined below:

1. Business Development

  • Identify and engage potential partners across the social impact sector, including NGOs, foundations, CSR divisions, and international agencies.
  • Develop and execute strategies to position OD as a value-adding service for diverse stakeholders.
  • Craft compelling pitches, proposals, and presentations tailored to partner needs.
  • Establish partnerships and collaborations to expand the reach and impact of the OD vertical.
  • Use a data-driven approach to track and achieve revenue targets while maintaining a client-focused ethos.

2. Organisational Development Expertise

  • Design and deliver a wide range of OD services, including but not limited to:
  • Typical Services: Strategy and leadership development, organisational restructuring, salary benchmarking, policy development, etc.
  • Niche Services: Culture transformation, diversity and inclusion frameworks, employee well-being programs, adaptive leadership for social impact organisations, etc.
  • Diagnose organisational challenges and co-create tailored solutions with partners to enhance their effectiveness and sustainability.
  • Stay updated on global best practices and emerging trends in OD to innovate service offerings.

3. Thought Leadership

  • Serve as a thought leader by representing the organisations OD practice in public forums, conferences, and webinars.
  • Publish articles, white papers, and case studies showcasing the impact and innovation of the OD vertical.
  • Act as a brand ambassador to position the organisation as a leader in OD services for the social impact space.

4. Team Management

  • Build and lead a lean, high-performing team capable of delivering exceptional results.
  • Mentor and upskill team members to ensure alignment with client needs and organisational goals.
  • Set clear objectives, monitor performance, and foster a collaborative and accountable team culture.

5. Entrepreneurial Growth and Strategy

  • Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for the growth of the OD vertical.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities in the current portfolio and innovate new service lines to address emerging client needs.
  • Ensure the financial sustainability and scalability of the vertical while maintaining alignment with the organisations mission.
  • Foster a results and outcomes first mindset within the vertical, driving agility, ownership, and accountability.

Key Qualifications

  • Educational and Professional Background: Strong evidence of success in relevant skills listed in the role description. Advanced degree in organisational development, human resources, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of proven experience in organisational development, business development, or a related field, preferably in the social impact or consulting sectors.
  • Sales and Analytical Acumen: Demonstrated ability to quantify value propositions, design data-driven strategies, and translate OD expertise into compelling business solutions.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: In-depth knowledge of OD theories, frameworks, and tools, with a proven track record of successfully designing and delivering impactful OD interventions.
  • Partner-Centric Approach: Strong relationship-building, stakeholder management, and client engagement skills, with experience working with diverse clientele.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, drive results, and execute on ambitious goals within a growing vertical.
  • Entrepreneurial Drive: A self-starter with a passion for innovation, adaptability, and building solutions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience in crafting proposals, thought leadership content, and delivering impactful presentations.
