Legal Counsel/Senior Legal Counsel - Conglomerate (5-15 yrs)

As a Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal advice and support to the Hong Kong conglomerate.

You will be involved in a wide range of legal matters, including contract negotiation, intellectual property, data privacy, and employment law.

Key Responsibilities:

- Review, draft, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts, including NDAs, joint venture agreements, licensing agreements, and procurement contracts.

- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

- Advise on data privacy compliance, including GDPR and Hong Kong's Personal Data Privacy Ordinance.

- Conduct data privacy impact assessments and implement data protection measures.

- Manage the company's intellectual property portfolio, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights.

- Advise on IP strategy and licensing.

- Provide advice on employment contracts, employee benefits, and labor relations.

- Handle employee disputes and disciplinary matters.

- Represent the company in commercial disputes and litigation.

- Manage external counsel and monitor litigation progress.

Required Skills and Experience:

- 5-15 years of PQE in a reputable law firm or in-house legal department.

- Strong understanding of Hong Kong law, including corporate law, contract law, and intellectual property law.

- Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

- Experience in cross-border transactions and international law.

- Experience in the real estate or construction industry.

- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese
