Position Overview:

The Senior IBMi Developer will be a key contributor to our development team, tasked with maintaining, enhancing, and modernizing our customized IBMi AS/400 environment. The ideal candidate will leverage deep technical expertise to ensure the system is robust, scalable, and aligned with evolving business requirements. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with stakeholders, consultants, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Maintenance & Support: Manage and support the existing IBMi AS/400 systems to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Development & Customization: Develop, enhance, and customize applications on the IBMi platform to meet business needs.
• Modernization Initiatives: Lead efforts to modernize the IBMi platform by integrating with contemporary tools, APIs, and technologies.
• Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance and implement tuning strategies to optimize efficiency.
• Code Reviews: Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices, standards, and guidelines.
• Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, user manuals, and system workflows for ongoing and future projects.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proficiency in RPG IV, CLLE, SQL/400, and DB2 on the IBMi platform.
• Strong understanding of IBMi operating systems and subsystems.
• Experience with modernization tools and frameworks for IBMi applications.
• Proven experience in diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues within IBMi environments.
• Familiarity with integrating IBMi systems with external applications using APIs and other integration tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills to interact with stakeholders and team members effectively.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
• Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in IBMi AS/400 development and maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Experience in BFSI, Retail, or Manufacturing domains.
• Exposure to emerging technologies like cloud-based integrations.
