Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Supervisor to join our team. The Civil Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations at the construction site, ensuring that civil works are carried out according to the project plans, schedules, and quality standards. This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership abilities, and a focus on maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency on site.

Role & responsibilities

• Site Supervision: Supervise and manage civil construction activities on-site, ensuring that all tasks are performed in compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate a team of laborers, subcontractors, and tradespeople to ensure work is carried out efficiently and safely. Ensure effective communication within the team and with other departments.
• Quality Assurance: Inspect materials, workmanship, and construction processes to ensure quality standards are met. Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Safety Management: Enforce strict adherence to safety standards and protocols on the construction site. Conduct regular safety audits, identify hazards, and ensure proper safety equipment is in use.
• Progress Monitoring: Monitor the progress of civil works to ensure that tasks are completed on time and in line with the project schedule. Report any delays or issues to the Site Engineer or Project Manager.
• Resource Management: Manage and coordinate the use of construction materials, equipment, and labor on-site. Ensure resources are used efficiently and effectively.
• Problem Solving: Resolve any technical or operational issues that arise on-site, ensuring minimal disruption to the project timeline.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, work performed, material usage, and safety inspections. Prepare progress reports for the Site Engineer or Project Manager.
• Coordination with Other Teams: Work closely with other site supervisors, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth coordination and execution of civil works.
• Proficient in establishing contacts, onboarding new tasks, and managing skilled labour resources to ensure efficient work execution

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 3 years of experience in supervising civil construction works, with hands-on experience in managing site activities and personnel.

Skills

• Strong understanding of civil construction processes, techniques, and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to resolve issues and make decisions on-site quickly and efficiently.
• Certifications: Health & Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH, or equivalent) are preferred
