Quality Manager

Position Summary: The Quality Manager for an Electric Vehicle (EV) Electronics company oversees the quality assurance processes for the company's electronic products and components used in electric vehicles. This role ensures that the electronics meet all safety, reliability, and performance standards through strict testing, analysis, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement quality assurance processes and systems for EV chargers manufactured for the OEM & quality management system (QMS) to meet industry standards for electronic components used in EVs
• Oversee quality control procedures throughout the production cycle, from raw material sourcing to final assembly.
• Lead audits and inspections of production lines and suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Conduct supplier quality audits to ensure the materials and components used meet quality standards and specifications.
• Collaborate with R&D, design, and engineering teams to ensure product quality during the design and development stages.
• Review and approve test plans and reports for components, subassemblies, and final products.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, UL, CE) and safety standards (e.g., IEC 61851, UL 2202) and comply with relevant environmental and regulatory standards.
• Monitor and track quality metrics, generating reports and presenting findings to upper management.
• Manage and train quality assurance teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
• Act as the liaison with customers and regulatory bodies for quality-related matters.
• Lead the development and implementation of product validation and testing procedures for new EV charger models.
• Perform risk assessments and collaborate with design and engineering teams to mitigate potential quality risks.
• Oversee the creation and execution of quality inspection protocols for both prototype and mass-production stages.
• Coordinate root cause analysis for any quality-related issues, working closely with production, engineering, and the supply chain to identify and address issues.
• Manage quality audits, both internal and external, ensuring ongoing compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant certifications.
• Analyze quality data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular quality reports to senior management.
• Collaborate with customer service teams to address quality-related customer feedback and complaints.
• Lead quality training initiatives to ensure that employees across departments understand and follow quality protocols.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
• 8-10 years of experience in quality management or quality assurance in electronics manufacturing.
• Experience in the automotive or electric vehicle industry is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations (ISO, IATF, UL, CE).
• Proficiency in quality tools and techniques such as SPC, Six Sigma, FMEA, and root cause analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
• Experience with the implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF 16949 standards.
• Proficiency in using quality tools like Six Sigma, FMEA, SPC, and root cause analysis.
• Experience working with OEMs and knowledge of the automotive industrys manufacturing processes.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills to work across multiple departments and interact with suppliers and customers.
• Ability to handle complex projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality EV charging products on time.
