Job Description

This position is responsible for the development and performance of all new electric 2W OEMs and production activities related to the mentioned industry. As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward-thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. The Director of Business Development - Mobility, would be responsible for formulating and executing the business strategy to build the Mobility business. This will be done by converting Chain to Belt technology across the bicycle, motorcycle, scooter, CVT and fitness sectors of our business . He /she shall be responsible for the achievement of maximum growth in line with company vision and values. He/ She will be instrumental in improving the efficiency of the overall operations to facilitate accelerating development and long-term success. He/ She will have to expand the customer base by increasing share of business in existing customer base and developing new end markets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned beyond the core functions listed below.
  • Research and identify new markets to develop new business opportunities in Electric 2W Industry.
  • Directing marketing efforts by presenting market research to marketing directors and suggesting strategies to expand market research.
  • Develops and strengthens internal and external relationships to increase lead generation and market share.
  • Helps to shape the companys long-term objectives and determine plans for how to meet them.
  • Build relationships with customers (increase share of wallet), suppliers, distributors, partners, and vendors.
  • Manages key client relationships and works to build new ones.
  • Evaluates existing partnerships and sales efforts with entrepreneurial mindset across all teams and functions.
  • Expands the profile and reach of the company and its brands.
  • Leads sales, marketing, customer service, and client relationship management teams.
  • Fosters and work to build cross-functional teams to guide and nourish sustainable, long-term growth.
  • Provides advice on product development and distribution and promotion strategies.
  • Conducts webinars and presentations to raise the brand or product profile.
  • Select prospective vendors and negotiate contracts.
  • Fulfills requests for proposals (RFPs) from potential partners and customers.
  • Talent acquisition, assessment, development, retention, and succession planning
  • A safe work environment and leading by example to advocate our CORE values and culture.
  • Implementing and oversight of company policies and adherence to Limits of Authority
The incumbent will also need to ensure:
  • Adherence of Gates code of conduct & ethics. Shall set an example as a role model for his team in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and work habits.
  • Follow customer internal standards for Substance of Concern (SOC) or restricted and reportable materials (with support from SE)
  • He/ She has the authority to stop the process for reasons of non-compliance of quality standards and with customer concerns
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The incumbent reports to Senior Managing Director Commercial, India and support him in all day to day operations to achieve the business objectives of the company.
  • Interact closely with PLM and Marketing team on updated Gates global trend and take decision in framing up range and cost viability.
  • The incumbent would have a dedicated team of Sales, application and Sourcing to support in day-to-day basis.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Engineer from a recognized university
  • Minimum of 17 to 22 years of experience in 2W Automotive Industry
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to provide concurrent oversight to multiple resources and projects.
  • Demonstrated proficiency managing analytically rigorous initiatives.

  • Leader in customer service professional approach to internal/ external clients
  • Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrates effective time management skills
  • Excellent business ethics and integrity
  • Strong team player, proactively able to step in to support other team members as needed and share knowledge to allow cross training of all functions, builds collaborative relationships.
  • Self-directed and motivated with insight and ideas to motivate sales teams
  • Strong Communication skills including Presentation & Negotiation skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Frequent Travel to market all over India
2. International Travel as required to customer locations/ Gates facilities
