Job Opening For HPE Server Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Server Installation and Configuration:

• Deploy and configure HPE server hardware, including ProLiant, Synergy, and Apollo systems.
• Install and configure server management tools like HPE Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) and HPE OneView.
• Implement server virtualization using VMware, Hyper-V, or other platforms on HPE hardware.

2. Maintenance and Monitoring:

• Perform regular firmware, driver, and software updates to ensure servers operate at peak performance.
• Monitor server health using tools such as HPE InfoSight and OneView, addressing issues proactively.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues on HPE servers.

3. High Availability and Disaster Recovery:

• Implement high-availability solutions using server clustering and load balancing.
• Develop and execute disaster recovery plans for HPE server environments.
• Ensure proper backup and recovery mechanisms are in place for critical systems.

4. Storage and Networking Integration:

• Configure and maintain HPE storage systems (e.g., HPE Nimble, 3PAR, MSA) integrated with servers.
• Collaborate with network teams to ensure seamless integration between servers, storage, and network devices.

5. Security and Compliance:

• Implement server security best practices, including BIOS and firmware protection.
• Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and mitigate vulnerabilities affecting HPE server environments.

6. Documentation and Reporting:

• Document server configurations, procedures, and policies.
• Generate regular performance and capacity reports for server environments.
• Maintain an inventory of HPE server hardware and associated licenses.

7. Collaboration and Support:

• Work closely with application, database, and network teams to support business-critical systems.
• Provide technical support for escalated server-related issues.
• Assist in capacity planning and hardware procurement.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

• years of experience managing HPE server hardware and related systems.
• Hands-on experience with HPE ProLiant, Synergy, or Apollo servers.
• Experience with server virtualization and management tools.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in HPE server management tools (HPE OneView, iLO, InfoSight).
• Strong knowledge of server hardware components, RAID configurations, and BIOS settings.
• Experience with virtualization platforms like VMware or Hyper-V on HPE hardware.
• Understanding of networking concepts (LAN/WAN, VLANs) and storage integration.
• Familiarity with scripting for automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python).

Soft Skills:

• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and documentation abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Additional Information:

• Certifications (Preferred):
• HPE ATP/AIS/ASE Certifications (e.g., HPE ATP - Server Solutions, HPE ASE - Data Center and Cloud Architect)
• VMware or Microsoft certifications related to virtualization
