Packaging Engineer

Role & responsibilities :

1. Packaging Design & Development:

• Develop safe, cost-effective, and sustainable packaging solutions for toy products.
• Ensure aesthetic appeal, durability, and functionality in packaging design.
• Work with AutoCAD, ArtiosCAD, or similar design tools to create packaging prototypes.

Material Selection & Testing:

• Select suitable packaging materials (corrugated boxes, blister packs, clamshells, shrink wraps, etc.) based on product requirements.
• Conduct drop tests, compression tests, and transit simulation to validate packaging performance.

✅ Compliance & Regulatory Standards:

• Ensure compliance with global packaging regulations (ASTM F963, EN71, ISTA standards).
• Address environmental and sustainability concerns (recyclable & eco-friendly packaging).

Vendor & Cross-functional Collaboration:

• Coordinate with suppliers, printing & packaging vendors to ensure cost optimization and timely execution.
• Work with design, production, quality, and supply chain teams for seamless packaging integration.

Process Improvement & Cost Optimization:

• Implement lean packaging strategies to reduce costs while maintaining quality.
• Optimize packaging line efficiency and minimize material waste.

Preferred candidate profile

✔ Strong knowledge of packaging materials, design software & testing methods
✔ Understanding of export packaging regulations and compliance
✔ Experience in corrugated packaging, injection molding, thermoforming
✔ Ability to work with cross-functional teams & external vendors
✔ Problem-solving skills & attention to detail

Preferred Experience:

• Exposure to sustainable packaging solutions & automation.
