Job Description
Bachelors degree in Horticulture, Botany, Agriculture or related field (Masters degree preferred) with 14-16 years of experience in landscaping and horticulture activities
- Oversee the design and implementation of landscaping projects, ensuring they meet requirements and budget specifications.
- Manage the maintenance of landscapes, including scheduling lawn care, pruning, fertilizing, and irrigation system upkeep.
- Coordinate the procurement of plants, materials, and equipment necessary for landscaping projects and maintenance activities.
- Develop and implement pest and disease management strategies to maintain healthy landscapes.
- Conduct site assessments to determine landscaping needs and potential challenges, such as soil quality and drainage issues.
- Manage budgeting and financial planning for landscaping projects, including cost estimation, billing, and expense tracking.
- Advocate for environmentally sustainable landscaping practices, including the use of native plants and water conservation techniques.
- Direct and participate in planting seeds, transplanting seedlings, and cultivating plants.
- Oversee the pruning of plants to promote growth and improve appearance.
- Monitor and adjust irrigation systems to ensure optimal watering of plants.
- Test soil quality and amend it as necessary to ensure healthy plant growth.
- Identify and treat pest infestations and diseases using integrated pest management (IPM) techniques.
- Ensure proper storage conditions for harvested produce to maintain freshness and quality.
- Maintain detailed records of planting, treatments, harvests, and sales.
- Plan, organize, direct, and control the operations of Horticulture and Green Belt Development Works in Group Housing, Township, Residential-Commercial projects.
- Supervise staff in planting, transplanting, feeding, and spraying stock.
- Identify and control insect, disease, and weed problems.
- Maintain records on stock, finances, and personnel.
