Job Description
- Bachelors degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field
- Masters degree in a relevant discipline is preferred
- 10 to 12 years of experience in the copper industry
- Prior experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a smelting facility
- Demonstrated expertise in optimizing smelting processes and ensuring adherence to safety protocols
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the smelting facility, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
- Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance smelting efficiency, minimize downtime, and reduce production costs
- Lead and mentor a team of smelting professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate raw material inputs, production schedules, and product quality control measures
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, occupational health, and safety standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize smelting processes, minimize waste, and enhance overall operational performance
- Prepare and analyze production reports, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions
- Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activities related to smelting operations
- Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in smelting processes
- Act as a liaison with external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and suppliers to ensure smooth operations and compliance
