Senior Business Analyst (BA) Loan Origination System

Role & responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst with 5+ years of expertise in Loan Origination Systems (LOS), Digital Lending, RBI regulations pertaining to Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs), and SaaS platforms. and be proficient in gathering client requirements, analyzing them, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement new features or enhance existing LOS. Who will also be responsible for project management, client communication, documentation, and ensuring regulatory compliance for business solutions in the NBFC LOS domain.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Client Requirement Gathering & Analysis:
• Engage with clients, stakeholders, and business teams to understand requirements related to LOS, RBI regulations, and NBFC operations.
• Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications, ensuring alignment with client objectives and regulatory frameworks.
• Conduct gap analysis and suggest process improvements to enhance system efficiency and compliance.
2. Feature Development & Enhancements:
• Collaborate with development teams to define, design, and prioritize new features or enhancements for existing banking applications.
• Work closely with stakeholders to ensure that requirements are understood and met in a timely manner.
• Focus on improving scalability, security, and efficiency within LOS and SaaS platforms.
3. Project Management & Execution:
• Oversee end-to-end project implementation and enhancement of the Loan Origination System (LOS), ensuring smooth execution within timelines and budgets.
• Use Agile and Waterfall methodologies to manage project resources, track progress, and identify risks, implementing mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations, loan processing standards, and audit requirements.
4. API Integration & Documentation:
• Work on integrating third-party APIs (e.g., credit bureaus, identity verification) within the banking ecosystem like Loan management System (LMS) to ensure smooth data flow across systems.
• Create comprehensive documentation, including functional specifications, user stories, API documentation, and process flows.
5. Stakeholder & Vendor Management:
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless integrations.
• Negotiate vendor contracts, manage SLAs for outsourced services, and ensure effective communication of project updates to senior management.
6. Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure that all solutions, particularly those related to loan origination and financial services, comply with RBI regulations, NBFC guidelines, and other relevant industry standards.
• Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and incorporate them into system improvements and enhancements.
7. Team Leadership & Collaboration:
• Lead cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, and financial analysts, ensuring timely and efficient project delivery.
• Mentor and guide team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Address project conflicts and ensure alignment between business and technical teams.
8. Testing & Validation:
• Assist QA teams in testing and validating implemented features by creating test cases and ensuring that products meet client expectations and regulatory standards.
9. Change Management & Training:
• Lead training programs for users and stakeholders to ensure smooth adoption of new features and system enhancements.
• Adapt to changes in project scope, priorities, and regulatory requirements efficiently.
10. Continuous Improvement:
• Proactively suggest and implement improvements to current features and systems, keeping up with industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving regulations.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the banking domain, with a strong focus on Loan Origination Systems (LOS), RBI regulations, and NBFC operations.
• Domain Knowledge: In-depth understanding of loan origination workflows, including Inquiry, Lead, Appraisal, Approval, Sanction, and Disbursement. Expertise in retail and business loans, credit checks, risk assessment, underwriting, and regulatory compliance.
• SaaS Platforms: Hands-on experience working with SaaS-based banking applications, including documentation and client communication.
• API Integration: Proficiency in API integrations within banking systems to ensure smooth data exchange.
• Project Management: Experience with managing project timelines, resources, and budgets, using Agile and Waterfall methodologies. PMP or CSM certification is preferred.
• Problem-Solving & Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex business processes and propose practical solutions for both business and technical teams.
• Documentation Skills: Expertise in creating clear, concise documentation, including functional specifications, process flows, user stories, test cases, and regulatory documentation.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for capturing client requirements, providing updates, and interacting with stakeholders at all levels.
• Tools: Proficiency with common BA tools like JIRA, Figma, Confluence, MS Visio, etc.
• Regulatory Compliance: Strong knowledge of RBI regulations, financial services compliance frameworks, and audit requirements related to NBFCs.
