Role Overview:

The Head of Supply Chain will be responsible for leading the end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring efficiency, cost optimization, and seamless execution across procurement, manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, and distribution. This leadership role is critical in ensuring that the FMCG business meets its growth objectives through agile, responsive, and technology-driven supply chain strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Strategy & Optimization:

- Develop and implement a supply chain strategy aligned with business goals, ensuring cost efficiency and operational excellence.

- Drive demand and supply planning to ensure optimal stock levels, reduce wastage, and enhance service levels.

- Continuously optimize the distribution network to enhance speed, cost-effectiveness, and market reach.

Procurement & Vendor Management:

- Lead strategic sourcing, procurement, and supplier relationship management to ensure cost savings and quality control.

- Develop long-term partnerships with key suppliers to drive value and mitigate risks.

- Implement supplier performance evaluation metrics to enhance reliability and responsiveness.

Manufacturing & Warehousing:

- Ensure efficient production planning and inventory management to meet customer demand without excess stockholding.

- Oversee warehouse operations, driving best practices in storage, handling, and safety compliance.

- Implement lean manufacturing and automation solutions to optimize cost and efficiency.

Logistics & Distribution:

- Streamline logistics operations, ensuring cost-effective transportation and last-mile delivery solutions.

- Develop alternative logistics models, including D2C fulfillment, e-commerce logistics, and multi-modal transport.

- Ensure on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery to distributors, retailers, and end consumers.

Technology & Process Improvement:

- Drive digital transformation in supply chain management through AI, IoT, automation, and predictive analytics.

- Implement ERP, WMS, and TMS solutions for better visibility and real-time tracking.

- Continuously analyze supply chain KPIs, identifying bottlenecks and improvement areas.

Sustainability & Compliance:

- Develop eco-friendly supply chain initiatives to reduce carbon footprint and enhance sustainability.

- Ensure strict adherence to FMCG regulatory requirements, quality standards, and safety protocols.

- Implement waste management and reverse logistics strategies to optimize resources.

Leadership & Stakeholder Management:

- Build and lead a high-performing supply chain, procurement, and logistics team.

- Collaborate with finance, sales, marketing, and R&D teams to align supply chain strategies with business needs.

- Partner with external stakeholders such as government bodies, industry forums, and logistics providers to drive innovation.

Skills & Qualifications:

- 15-20 years of experience in supply chain management within the FMCG industry.

- Proven track record of supply chain transformation, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement.

- Expertise in demand planning, procurement, logistics, and inventory management.

- Strong understanding of supply chain analytics, automation, and digital tools.

- Experience in multi-channel distribution, modern trade, general trade, and e-commerce supply chains.

- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

- MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field preferred.
