Summary:As a Scala developer you will play a crucial role in designing and developing scalable, high-performance backend systems that power our media streaming platform. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product management, design, and operations to deliver innovative solutions that enhance user engagement and satisfaction. You will support the product development team to gather requirements, develop video player for STBs (Set-top-Boxes), or new features for existing video streamer.Roles & Responsibilities:Must have Skills:- Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs using Scala and related technologies.- Implement IPTV streaming protocols and standards, ensuring compatibility with various devices and platforms.- Strong proficiency in Scala programming language.- Integrate with IPTV headend systems, including content ingestion, transcoding, and DRM (Digital Rights Management) solutions.- Implement and optimize video streaming protocols such as HLS, MPEG-DASH, and RTMP for efficient content distribution and playback.- Familiarity with frameworks such as Akka, Play Framework, or similar.- Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture.- Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Implement security measures for IPTV content protection and user authentication.- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in IPTV, OTT (Over-the-Top), and video streaming.Good to have experience:- Knowledge of IPTV streaming protocols (e.g., RTP, RTSP, HLS, MPEG-DASH) and content delivery networks (CDNs).- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++.- Familiarity with DRM solutions and content protection mechanisms for IPTV. Additional Information:- The candidate should have a minimum of 12 years of experience in Advanced Embedded System Engineering with 15 years of full-time education.- This position is based at our Bengaluru office.
