Summary:Provide technical support on Redhat production and development systems and software products for the configured services. Provide VMware support to create and install, manage and configure IT infrastructure solutions , including hardware, servers, and virtual machines, using a VMware environment such as vSphere. Coordination with vendor in Hardware and Software solution troubleshooting.
Roles & Responsibilities:-Administer Redhat Linux and Veritas Cluster. -Provide support during migrations and DR activities. -Test the changes and handover to customer ,Troubleshoot technical issues, Participate in Problem management reporting , Providing RCA , resolution and documentation in ticketing system Work with teams, vendors and consultants to determine strategy for complex system changes, upgrades and implementations, Develop configuration and procedural documentation. -Manage, maintain & Troubleshoot ESXI, Virtual Center & Other VMware datacenter solutions like NSX-T, vSAN in the environment.
Professional & Technical Skills:

Administer Redhat, Veritas Cluster and Vmware

Troubleshooting of issue and vendor coordination

Volume manager and filesystem management

Planning, implementation, and upgrade of packages, patches Proactively monitor and health check of servers, manages system resources to assure maximum system performance and appropriate additional capacity for peak periods and growth Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning Necessary action performed on security & risk assessments.

Plans, configures and implements features on the Sparc and x86 platform that improve availability, response time, and monitoring of key system metrics. Provides support to the user community-using incident and problem management tools. Must be able to provide 24 x 7 on-call support based on a rotational schedule.

Ability to write and understand shell script will be an advantage.

Deliver strategic account support by operating and administrating customer IT Environment to ensure proper operation and availability

Provide technical assistance and guidance

Provide leadership in technical incident and problem management and in their resolution, working closely with end customers, remote and field support staff

Participate/Drive ITIL based change management, problem management, incident management and attend Customer Change Advisory Board (CAB)

Develop customer account relationships

Coordinate technical activities for one or more customers

Advise & implement new OS & Cluster patches/updates, OS Versions update

Respond to security incidents

Develop action plans to investigate and resolve complex issues/problems and clearly communicate these to engineers, customers and/or relevant managers

Create and install, manage and configure IT infrastructure solutions , including hardware, servers, and virtual machines, using a VMware environment such as vSphere. Coordination with vendor in Hardware and Software solution troubleshooting.

Monitor client systems daily and detect problem areas. They proactively design and install application updates, versions, and patches based on release by vendors. In addition to that they also update drivers, servers, and firmware and keep the environment hardened and secured.

Maintain & Support:Exadata Cloud at Customer aka ExaCC.

Vast experience of latest Oracle Exadata and other Oracle engineered Exa appliances is must.

Infrastructure level (Dom0) Knowledge along with virtual servers (DomU) support and maintenance.

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure console knowledge will be required for ExaCC Gen2 support.

Analyze and apply Security Patch and release management (following Dom0 QFSDP) along with one-off patches for DomU v-servers.

Brief knowledge of Oracle Database, Automatic Storage Management (ASM), Real Application Cluster (RAC), High Availability (HA), Snapshots and Backups.

Extracting vulnerability scan reports like Tanium, SOX, Qualys and remediate the vulnerabilities faced at server OS level.

ExaCC storage expansion, user & group creation, ssh config, VM network, exachk, 3rd party software/yum packages installation as per business requirement.

Extensive knowledge in ITIL concepts like Incident management, Problem management, Change management, SLAs and continuous service improvement. Strong understanding of support - tickets, monitoring, processes and metrics.

Shell scripting and python will be a desirable option to implement automation and process improvement (PI).

Evaluating overall performance of Oracle Exa appliances and proactive approach for improving performance and health of Oracle Linux servers (OEL 6/7).

Collaborating and working with Oracle support to drive critical activities and issues towards resolution with RCA.

Monitoring alert logs and analysing traces from servers.

Create Filesystems/NFS Shares and mount-unmount as per requirement.

Monitor & support critical hardware failure (HDD, FD, DIMM, PDU, Motherboard replacements) and work with Oracle Dispatch Team.

Tools used:OCI console, putty, OEM, confluence, sharepoint, WinScp, Service Now, MyOracle support (MOS), Citrix, MS Office, etc.

Good verbal and written communication skills to connect with customers at varying levels of the organization - Ability to operate independently and make decisions with little direct supervision - Flexible to work in 24/7 shift.
Additional Information:1 Bachelor's degree. 2 ITIL V3/V4 Foundation certified. 3 Redhat and Vmware certified 4. Certification on cloud technology will be an advantage
