Job Description

JD for MBO – Area Manager / Accounts Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Account Management (Existing Business):
    • Oversee and manage existing fashion retail accounts across multiple business outlets (MBOs).
    • Ensure proper execution of merchandising, promotions, and in-store activities for current clients.
    • Continuously assess the performance of each account, identifying areas for improvement and addressing any issues or challenges.
    • Ensure contract renewals, pricing updates, and terms of service are aligned with client needs and business goals.

  1. Business Development (New Accounts):
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the MBO fashion retail sector to expand market presence.
    • Develop and implement strategic plans to attract and onboard new clients, focusing on long-term partnership development.
    • Conduct market research to identify potential MBO partners, consumer trends, and competitor activities.

  1. Relationship Building and Management:
    • Cultivate strong, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders, including store owners, buyers, and management teams at fashion outlets.
    • Maintain regular communication through in-person visits, meetings, and presentations to strengthen client engagement and loyalty.

  1. MIS (Management Information Systems) & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts, sales performance, and customer interactions using MIS tools.
    • Regularly analyze data to track KPIs, sales trends, and account performance.
    • Prepare comprehensive reports on business performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior management for continuous improvement.
    • Ensure MIS tools are effectively used to forecast demand, monitor inventory, and streamline operations across all outlets.

  1. Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth:
    • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve growth targets for both existing and new accounts.
    • Collaborate with the sales staff, marketing, and merchandising teams to create targeted proposals and promotional activities that align with client objectives.
    • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with both existing and prospective clients to optimize profitability.

  1. Managing Existing Business Operations:
    • Ensure smooth day-to-day management of business operations across MBOs, including merchandising, promotions, and inventory management.
    • Coordinate product launches and special promotions to maximize brand visibility and retail sales across outlets.
    • Troubleshoot any operational challenges or issues to maintain seamless business continuity.

  1. Performance Tracking & Continuous Improvement:
    • Monitor sales performance, market share, and client satisfaction for each MBO account.
    • Conduct regular account reviews to assess performance, address concerns, and identify new growth opportunities.
    • Continuously improve processes, sales strategies, and account management techniques to drive efficiency and profitability.

  1. Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with internal teams, including merchandising, marketing, and supply chain, to ensure alignment with client needs and smooth execution of strategies.
    • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of products, accurate inventory levels, and effective promotional activities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in account management, business development, or a similar role within the fashion retail industry, preferably in MBO settings.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, merchandising, and sales strategies.
  • Proficiency in MIS tools and data analysis for business reporting and decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
