Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a result-driven Manager for Sponge Iron Sales and Business Development of Alloy Steel Long Products to oversee sales operations, manage receivables, develop new business opportunities, and handle quality dispute resolutions. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the steel industry and have a proven track record in driving revenue, managing customer relationships, and resolving operational challenges.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Sales & Business Development:

  • Drive sales for sponge iron and alloy steel long products, ensuring revenue and profitability targets are met or exceeded.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities to expand market share and enhance product reach.
  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies to attract new customers and retain existing accounts.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, suppliers, and distributors.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs to recommend product enhancements and pricing strategies.

2. Receivables & Credit Management:

  • Monitor and manage receivables to ensure timely collections and minimize outstanding payments.
  • Develop credit terms and limits in collaboration with finance to mitigate risk while supporting sales growth.
  • Regularly review aging reports and follow up with clients to resolve payment issues promptly.

3. Quality Disputes Management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for resolving product quality disputes, coordinating with production and quality control teams.
  • Investigate root causes of quality issues and propose corrective actions to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure that product quality standards are consistently met across all shipments.

4. Contract Negotiation & Pricing:

  • Lead pricing discussions and negotiate terms with customers to maximize margins without compromising competitive positioning.
  • Draft and review sales agreements, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

5. Customer Relationship Management:

  • Conduct regular client visits to gather feedback, address concerns, and strengthen relationships.
  • Manage post-sales activities, including order fulfillment and customer support, to enhance overall client satisfaction.

6. Cross-Functional Coordination:

  • Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and logistics teams to ensure timely order fulfillment and consistent product quality.
  • Liaise with marketing and finance teams to support promotional campaigns and financial reporting.

7. Reporting & Analytics:

  • Prepare and present sales performance reports, market analysis, and key metrics to senior management.
  • Use CRM tools to track sales activities, pipeline, and forecasts.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management in the steel industry, with a focus on sponge iron or alloy steel products.
  • Skills:
    • Strong sales acumen with excellent negotiation and persuasion skills.
    • In-depth knowledge of sponge iron and alloy steel long product markets.
    • Proven experience in receivables management and credit control.
    • Problem-solving skills, particularly in handling customer quality disputes.
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
    • Proficiency in CRM and ERP systems.
