Got Rejected In an Interview, Just Because I Didn’t Answer a Personal Question
So, I got invited for this interview, and they told me to be there at 9 AM. Of course, I get there early, like 8:30, because I don't want to be late. But then I end up waiting for 1.5 hours. Seriously, they didn't even acknowledge me until 10. Then this HR lady calls me in, and she's totally unprofessional. She's like, on her phone, making personal calls while I'm sitting right there. And then she starts asking me these really weird questions, like what my nickname is, and what my dad does for a living. It got really uncomfortable when she started pressing for details about where my dad works. I mean, what does that have to do with anything? So I politely told her I didn't want to answer, and she actually said, "Then we can't continue this interview." I was honestly shocked. But instead of arguing, I just stood up and said, “Alright then.” And walked out. I left feeling pissed. Not only did they waste an hour of my time, but the HR rep was also rude and unprofessional..

Round 2 - Aptitude Test 

50 questions in 12 minutes mostly test your arthimetic, logical knowledge.

Round 3 - Coding Test 

3 coding questions in 90 mins, 1st one is from arrays an easy question, 2nd one is related to stacks and queues relatively harder and last one is hard which i am also unable to attempt. I cracked the first two questions and my solutions passed all the test cases.

  • Q1. N a line where words are separated by spaces, , and capitalize first letter of the reversed word. Other letters of the word should be in small. Input : “how are you?” → Output: “Woh Era ?uoy”
  • Ans. 

    The program capitalizes the first letter of each reversed word in a sentence.

    • Split the sentence into an array of words using space as a delimiter.

    • Reverse each word in the array and capitalize the first letter.

Experience: After this, selected candidates were interviewed that consists of 4 rounds and discussion was mostly on your CV and data structure problems.

General Tips: Be honest with your interviewer. If you are not comfortable in 1 topic, tell your interviewer honestly. Do well in other areas. Look for hints from the interviewer if you get stuck. They want to see how you approach a problem.
